HI phia2000 I am starting with Avon in the next few weeks, thanks for all your ideas, you are putting a lot of effort in, hope it is all paying off well for you :T

Re the In Bloom perfume, was hoping that was going to be really nice...out of interest it would be great to hear what all of you consider to be your favourite Avon perfume...and likewise which ones you don't like...

I love treselle and also quite like the tahitian one....I also have a soft spot for soft musk (not for me but a lady my mum delivered avon to about 20 years ago loved it and ordered it in some form from every brochure! it really suited her too....

My favourite is the Christian Lacroix Rouge, and I've also been using Treselle for a few years too. I'm not keen on In Bloom either but some of my customers like it - I guess if you like floral scents it wll suit you more. I found the Patrick Dempsey bloke'a scent doesn't last either! My OH used a sample and I could only smell if for the first half hour!

It's great when you manage to get a good back order price, but I must confess to feeling ever so slightly guilty when I do it lol. For my best customers I tell them the cheaper price, but if they don't order very often, I just keep the profit!
  • Mine was the 7th so 2weeks ago now. It's not really my taste but it'll be good to put a few bits in as a free gift for my friend when she has her Avon party next week.

Is it the one that is in the Clearance booklet of campaign 14? if so they reckon it was originally £40!!
  • OMG, yes it is! Well spotted. I suppose your paying for the name with it though, not actually the product or the quality. I'm actually quite impressed now.

Got my delivery this morning, had a little route around in it and found a cosmopolitan make up bag with brushes and sponges and tht in, spent ages going through my invoice trying to figure out why it was there when I knew I didn't order anything cosmopolitan. Right at the bottom in the items supplied with no cost section 'birthday gift' - Isn't that nice :) I didn't know we got birthday goodies from Avon.

Never had a birthday gift in all the 15 years i've being doing it. All I've had is a card.

    Hi everyone,

I too received a birthday gift with my order on Wednesday. Same thing - cosmo bag. Think I will offer it as a raffle prize.

I ordered 5 of the In Bloom money maker - one for me, one for SIL for Xmas and three to (hopefully) sell. Scent doesn't last long at all but not bad for a tenner. I really like Pur Blanca but my bottle just ran out.

I have a question about tax. I've been doing Avon for exactly one year. SL signed me up when my Avon rep retired and I took over most of her territory. My question is regarding tax. I have never registered as self-employed. I know I know..... I don't receive any benefits apart from Family Allowance for my 3 children. I don't work (SAHM) so Avon is my only income. I achieved Associate PC status last month (£6300 sales in first 18 campaigns). So effectively earnt 25% of that minus brochures, plastic bags, petrol costs etc. Actually doesn't feel that I earn all that much, I do the job more to get products for me/family and to get out of the house!!

Would you suggest I register and say I've only been doing Avon a few months?

I received a birthday gift too. (mines 7th sep...also next delivery date ...presents whoop whoop ...just not for me :()

mine was the same bag. thought it was a bit strange that its branded cosmo as you would think they would want to spread the AVON message a bit more. also thought it was a bit tacky and definately not worth the £24 (as it says in my camp 14 clearance book) let alone £40 as someone else said. still...nice gesture

bit down about this campaign, only got £100 worth of orders so far (not bad i know but ive had a fair bit more by this point the last few times)
and the last books ive given out are to houses that havent ever ordered anyway but im keeping optomistic....this blimming weather isnt helping much either

BUT its silly season with people on holiday so bring on christmas!!!

I wouldn't complain about the birthday gift, I didn't get anything, not even a card or happy birthday email from them!!! On the sl forum I go on, a few people on there have received these gifts, and yet others who have done it for years and years have never even had a card and yet others have....very bizarre!!!

And yes, if I were to register as self-employed I'd just tell them that you started anytime between now and 3 months ago, hopefully they wouldn't check up (I doubt it) especially as with registering they'd know you were going to be declaring stuff from now on!

Would be interested to hear about the bumper boxes also, was thinking of ordering one to maybe sell the bits at carboots/keep for Christmas gifts depending whats in them.....I don't mind if its discontinued stuff like I reckon it would be, but is there a mix of toiletries & make-up???
