I was walking along the road and the owner and 2 dogs walked out of their garden, onto the street and the dog ran up to me and bit me!! I don't know what to do about the order the woman has given me, am too scared not to order and too scared to go up to the house!! Might wait until she is in the garden again and pass it over to her when the order arrives. I hate my area, but can't afford to live anywhere else, and the house is in negative equity! Just more incentive to clear my debts faster I suppose!!!0

My OH sent me this link earlier. Allegedly Hugh Jackman's next project is to star as a guy with financial difficulties who reluctantly becomes an Avon Rep to earn some extra cash, but ends up doing well at it!
If this is true, hopefully it will generate new interest in Avon, and for any SLs amongst us, is bound to help with recruiting new reps?

Hello people!
I joined AVON last week, not many orders yet. I have a question about this:
Is what we have to do legally? My sales leader that signed me up never said anything about tax or self-employed, i am confused.

oh you poor thing lyndsey!
id DEFINATLEY report them, what if it does it to a child who cant protect itself?
and thats coming from someone who has a dog! i cant belive they didnt apologise or anything! cheeky beggers!
my mum lives in a horifically rough area and when i did avon round there they spent more than the posh-ish area that i live in!
if i were you i wouldnt go through the gate, just wait till you see her in the garden!0 -
Thanks. I honestly am worried about my safety, I live on my own and feel vulnerable as it is. The thought has gone through my mind so many times about doing it to a child. I have been brought up with dogs, I love them, I also know how unpredictable they can be and never go to pat them until they've sussed me out. I always stay still when they approach me so I don't startle them.
I don't do too badly on this estate, some of the people are so nice, I would never get to talk to most of them if I wasn't doing this, so it's a good way to meet people.0 -
Helllllllooooooo - sorry to hear about the dog incident Lyndsey - must be v scary. Not really sure on advice or what I'd do so can't be more helpful - although over the fence sounds good!
Am looking for a little help from someone on a later campaign than me (I am on O so not hard!)
First did anyone give out the Smart 6 booklets? Did you get many orders and if so were the products in stock?
MORE IMPORTANTLY (to me!!!) can anyone give me an idea of prices of bubble bath, room sprays, foot sprays, planet spa (is there an offer?) in C14? I want to give my C13 a pressie for spend over £20 but don't want to give them something that is 99p in the C14 that I give them wth their order (IYSWIM)
Thanks for any help - this thread is fab and marvellous and v helpfulDFW Nerd #1310 -
Regarding the free gifts people do for £10 or £15 spends, I think you will lose out in earnings. Ive found in the 3 years Ive done avon that people will order what they want regardless of a free offer. An average spend is around £10-£15 anyway, so why not up it to a £20 spend, that way increasing your sales?
I ony do free gifts at xmas to every customer, mostly 99p things or things Ive collected as 'free gifts' by putting orders together. Customers who have spent £30+ most of campaigns or those who pass the book to friends get a more expensive gift (normally anew bonus bags, or anew creams from split bonus bags). I give a gift to people who get a lot of orders for me by taking it into work, but only give a gift the 1st time or 10%. It works well.0 -
The smart 6 do you mean to one with the free nail varnish of the sale booklet in C12? I only gave an odd few of the free nail varnish one to customers who had never bought before, didn't work!! And the sale one I gave to all my customers (Only 1 person ordered from it!) You can still use the one with a free nail varnish for several camps after - is it up to C12? I can't remember as I am doing well getting the odd free nail varnish from them!
Has anyone used their loyalty cards yet? I think I wasted my money there!!
And is anyone getting the money maker in HT14 - I can't remember what it is now, there are a few pre-ordering bargains to be had, what have/are other people ordered/ing??0 -
lyndsey80 - i havent used my loyalty cards.. think they are useless! BUT i noticed you can return the lipsticks at £2 credit each.. therefore recouping your £10
welshgirl78 - i can let you know tomorrow whats in C14 if that helps? I get my books then... The smart 6 booklet (sale book for C12?) i gave out and only thing out of stock was the casablanca colour nail varnish from what my customers ordered .. i get my delivery tomorrow.0 -
Antler Camden Town Glam Box - Update
Customer demand for the Antler Camden Town Glam Box has far exceeded our expectations which means that any products back ordered in Campaign 12 will not be supplied. For any Glam Boxes ordered in Campaign 11 we are endeavouring to supply them during Campaigns 12 and 13.
If you are returning any of the Boxes then please could you send them back in the original / protective packaging.
I still have a glam box to return in the Leeds area if anyone needs one?0
