Avon Hints and Tips (Part 2)

If you accept cheques they need to be payable to yourself, as you will have to pay them into your own bank account, avon doesn't accept them directly. This means if they bounce for whatever reason you will incur the charge, but also you would be at a loss with the cheque not clearing! I only accept cheques from family, and people at work. People in my territory, I just politely say sorry I can't accept cheques and they understand without having to explain why. It does say on the order forms "cash on delivery" near the bottom, maybe point that out to your customer.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Well I have just put out the last of my cats for Mon collection, not even on MOV yet, and to top it all off I have been bitten by a dog with the owner their!! The family aren't the nicest in the world and this morning one of them asked if they could havean Avon cat (Avoided the house as I know what they are like) so I am walking along and the dog just ran up to me and bit my thigh and I shouted ouch and the owner didn't even say sorry!!! It's not drawn blood but bit me through my jeans, no hole in jeans but it looks horrible and bruised and is sore!!! I want to report them but am scared of repercussions as they have bullied other families on my estate!!!0

I have a question, can you accept a cheque made out to Avon as payment? A new customer insists that is how she has always paid for her orders but I don't know about that and how to pay that into my account?
Hi - I'm ex-avon. but when I did it I would accept cheques from my customers, made payable to me, but only when they ordered - that gave me time to bank the cheque and to make sure I had the cash in the bank before I gave them their products.
In my experience (2003 - 2007) they never accepted cheques made payable to Avon.
Hope this helps.0 -
On another note, a customer has asked if she orders from the clearance section (C12 Sale cat) can she still return it? I would have thought she could but just wanted to check?0

Yep everything has the 90day returns period unless otherwise stated. Never seen anything that has been outside of the return period mind you!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

I know that the mapping system (what the asm use to know where is allocated and where is free) goes "down" over the weekend for updates - so she might not reply until Monday now with not being able to double-check up on it. If you don't have much luck it would be worth ringing Avon and asking if you could have an email address for the District manager (the asm's boss!) to give her a nudge in the right direction!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Perhaps she has not had a Rep before and has always dealt direct with Avon as a customer.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
We never ever touch cheques, too much hassle and they can bounce, cash only0

Thats horrible. Not sure I would want to deal with a family like that.
Were you inside their boundary and did they have a fence or was it running loose? Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
