hi guys, there is allways so much to read when u dont log on for a few days. most people seem to have done well with c9 tho thats good. i am just about finished i have one street left to pick up from on tuesday so far im at 176.something pence its my 1st camp so i dont know if thats good or not me AM said they are expected to be 230 something i dont know what i have done wrong....

Wow thats really good, especially if your territory hasn't had a rep for a while, or the one before was rubbish as it may have put people off a bit. If you are reliable, pick the books up on the day you say etc then I'm sure in the following campaigns you will gain more and more customers. Has any of your orders come from family/friends/work? As that will help make your order totals bigger. My Mum even takes a book into her workplace for me which gives me 2 extra customers there, and my sister shows a book to 2 of her neighbours which again gives more customers for no extra work on my part! I must add I give my Mum & sis extra samples & other bits as thank you's for their work!

Out of 80 houses!!!Crickey, your ASM expects an awful lot! My first target was for about £200 but I had about 180 houses! So you have definately done well. Don't take it personally when people say they aren't interested, you will always get a few people like that, but then you will get those people that are so pleased to see the Avon lady lol!

For getting books back, if the book isn't out and I can't get an answer at the door, I pop a note through the door saying something along the lines of "I called today to collect your Avon book. I will call back TOMORROW. Please leave it outside your front door for collection, even if you are not ordering. Thank you". This means most of the "stray" books get left out the next day, as a lot of people just genuinely forget to leave them out!

Next camp i'm going to ask for lots and lots more houses though so i have a chance of getting sales well sales that aren't just f/f i've bugged about buying something! My ASM is already on about me being a SL, bribing me with a trip to the staff shop at Corby lol

Are you considering becoming a SL? I have to say my ASM hasn't particularly pushed me into it, I asked for more territory ages ago which she gave me, and I asked for some more last week. She said she couldn't give me any more with having so much already, but that she would happily sign up OH as she knows he does about half of the work anyway lol! That's why she mentioned being a SL as if OH is going to sign up to give us more territory she didn't want to sign him up, only for me to want to be a SL at a later date, as obviously OH could be my first sign up!

Technically you should ask your ASM so that it officially becomes your territory. If she said no, then I guess you could knock on doors and ask if they wanted a book. In the future though it could get assigned to someone so you might loose customers unless they were loyal - so definately better to try and get it added to your territory!

Definitely speak to your ASM - it's soul-destroying for a new Rep doing their very first round on their officially allocated territory to keep hearing "oh, we already have a rep" just because somebody has adopted a road and not told anyone in order to get the mapping system updated.

Oh right that is a surprise! Will definately have to have one of the official sites then! OH will be very disappointed by it being more difficult placing ad's - he spent ages this afternoon researching how much adverts in different newspapers would be! I suppose would have to submit something then to get it approved. Sounds like it will be more difficult to find people to sign up than I first thought then if you're limited with so many things. o well, will still give it a go.

One thing my OH was wondering - when people apply through the official website (like I did) to become a rep, do ASM sometimes send those leads on to SL or will they just sign them all up themselves? I figured that they probably wouldn't as Avon would be having to pay more commission to people, but does it sometimes happen?

Have submitted with flissys, just waiting to receive an email from them, which I guess being a bank holiday might not be for a while yet.

Has your facebook account helped you at all? Either by getting new customers or possible sign-ups? I've signed up this afternoon but haven't done anything with my account yet as couldn't manage to wrestle the laptop back from OH!:rotfl:Have managed to do a little on facebook this evening (OH at work lol) and joined a few Avon groups. Quite interesting reading through the different posts etc.

Is it allowed to create a facebook group? I was thinking then I can make it that only the Reps I sign up could view it (I think, still getting to grips with facebook lol!) so that we could all keep in touch and everyone get to know each other, and to encourage them with their sales lol!

Anybody else tried the facebook route to get more sales/sign-ups?

Question for any SL. Whats more effective leaflet drops or expired brochure drops? Just wondering if more people would take notice of a brochure through the door than a leaflet. Also what happens if someone rings saying they would like to be a customer do you serve them until you get a rep for the street and then pass them to new rep?
