Definately worth splitting your territory so that one half is on the new book and the rest on the old one, means you don't have to order as many books so you save money there, but also it does give you more opportunities for creative ordering so that you can get things cheaper or get freebies for yourself or giving as gifts.

Don't worry about not doing all your houses this time, so long as you get enough orders for hitting at least MOV, as it will be better for you in the long run!

For the sale/offer booklets, I do include them but only cos I figure my customers wouldn't order otherwise - I've found lots of people order the cheap sale items, but if the booklet wasn't there, I doubt that they would order from the actual book! You'll find what's best for yourself & your customers - maybe just give them to your family/friends, and maybe your best customers?

Hi All, I'm finding it soooo hard to keep up with all the entries now that I can only go on every few days (due to work) I've just started trying to get round my 2nd territory that I've been given. Managed to deliver to a small cul-de-sac the other day with about 20 houses in and had to go in the rain to collect the brochures back in... didn't get a single order!! That was last week before my last deadline for C7 orders... I've dropped at another 30ish houses and due to collect Wednesday so hope that's better (although I did get the one chasing me down the st with the Cat saying they didn't want it!!)

I've still got about another 100 houses to cover which I'm going to try and do with my C7 cats for this C8 time.. but the roads I have been given are like rabbit warrens!! Houses all over, some with names others with numbers and then they throw in a 24a 24b along with all them... I know I'm going to end up missing some out. It's so complicated

Nice to see there are some more newbies for me to chat to (I'm only on my 3rd) and we can squeeze more info out of you more experienced reps too...!

Sounds like you're doing well - that cul-de-sac that noone ordered in may give you some orders in the future - I have a street that only one person orders in, but this campaign I picked up another customer, and last campaign I also got another customer which I was really pleased about, as I'd originally thought it was a bit posh to like avon lol! So long as they give you the books back give them a good few campaigns, I've struggled this time (a lot of my total is from family this time) but I think it is mostly due to the rubbish offers in C7! C8 looks a lot better so you may pick up new customers next time, especially as the summer stuff is coming in.

I wish they'd just spread the brochures a bit further apart - even 4wks would be better... 18 in a year seems to be pushing it some. Mind you, I work shifts that are all over the place so I can't get into a routine with it, which makes it a little difficult.

I know what you mean - my shifts aren't too bad (one week of earlys, then one week of lates) but my OH does 7 on and then 3 or 4 days off, so we can never deliver/collect books the same days each time which must confuse some people!

It's really hard getting into a routine isn't it. My OH has a 3wk rota and I have a 5wk rota which has slightly different shifts every 5wks but same RD's so it's impossible to deliver on same day each time and it can confuse customers. I think I'm going to have to do what a few people on here do and type out a note reminding them when I'll deliver and to ring me if it's inconvenient. Only thing is, that's more work and another trip out!!

    What I do is this:

C7 officially ends for me tomorrow (but I normally submit on a Sunday anyway) so sometime early this week I will be delivering a letter to each person who has ordered telling them the day & a time slot when I will be delivering their order, and asking them to let me know if it isn't convenient. Seems to work for most people - I give them my home number, email addy, and now I'm trying out giving people my mobile number in case they'd prefer to text me. It is another trip out - but I can take all the letters in one go, and it means most people let me know if they will be at work, taking kids swimming etc etc so I don't waste a trip when trying to deliver their orders.

Do you put on your note how much they will owe you, then they can get it ready, or is that being cheeky??

I do that as well! I just put near the bottom

    Your order total is: ______

And if anything was out of stock, then I mention it in the letter, saying sorry for any inconvenience. Thank them for their custom, and then my name. I've decided to give a free gift every time someone orders six times (got a few free things from creative ordering, and some bits in the sales ready) so I also put at the bottom of the letter how they are doing with orders, I'm hoping it will make them more likely to order every time.
