Avon Hints and Tips (Part 2)

The antler cabin bag and the scales look great but that is already £17.50, don't want to spend my profit before I make it! I have handed out a couple of brochures at work, under the radar, as I still haven't mentioned to my colleague (friend does Avon) that I have started doing Avon yet. Hoping to get a few orders here though.
Obviously not on campaign 9 yet but I love the watch you can buy for £5.00 if you spend £10 on make up, hoping to get a few of these as freebies!Avon Rep

That is a nice watch, bargain. The mascara and solutions eye cream both for £7 is a good offer too,i think that will sell well,at our last meeting our divisional manager has friends who use that and ya can see results within days apparently so i reckon thats gonna be a best seller. Am sure you will be fine with your orders, good luck:beer:0 -

Thanks a lot for your post, I sure wish we did live closer as I would be picking your brain constantly at the mo!
I have Hello Tomorrow 10 and have been looking at the clearance section which has a lot of nice products but I am unsure of what sort of value I should be looking at. I think it is better to say mystery gift as I may be able to order creatively and get free gifts that way and use that instead.
Anyone ever ordered the lucky dip?
I really want the antler cabin case too, for myself of course! Am I right in thinking I could only order one of these?
Thanks
I usually keep the gifts under £2 and if anyone puts in an extremely big order you can then look for something that mirrors the value or give them 2-3 smaller gifts.
I personally have bought the samples kit which was a farce - 95% was discontinued products and colours.
I have also bought the king size bumper box cost 50quid and it too was laughable, I had hoped to use it as clever ordering, products folk ordered if I had it I could include it in their order and not order it again. but again 95% was dscontinued productsI would defo steer clear of them in future.
Think you will find more value from the HT clearance section.
I have about 75 gifts in stock, and just order 2-3 things per month unless there is a great deal then I will order extras.
If you are offering the free gift with a certain amount I wouldn't bother with the lucky dip, but what you could do ( and I am doing it this year )
if the last 4 campaigns before christmas do a raffle £1 a ticket and they can win a beauty/pamper box worth £25+
and am also going to make up smaller baskets for christmas time and add in a flyer, with the contents and amount.
It will help add extra incentives I think you can get the baskets pretty cheap on line and buy netting from a habidashery and add ribbon.
maybe some scented tea lights too.
Some folk don't like handing out avon products for christmas but if you add a homemade look to them they will sell like hotcakes.
But this does all take time.
So not great for folk who work full time.Life is what you make it;)0 -
Hmmm some pretty good idea there. Do you think I should try and order wisely between the two campaigns and see what free gifts I can get and use that as my free gift for over £20 or is that a cop out? I love making up gift baskets etc and have thought I will do that for Christmas. Do you take pictures of them, how do you advertise this? Does it have to be all Avon stuff in the baskets or can you add things like candles that aren't etc etc?
avon_boy - I guess I can only order one of those eye creams/mascaras then? I too thought that would be a very good seller.

Creative ordering is a good idea, campaign 8 there is not much to order creatively there a re a few stuff which is buy one order one for £1 so they are a good buy.
I add in extras hun as you have already purchased the stuff, it is up to you what you do with them.
I last year done, shampoo and conditioner, a bath/shower gel, 2 scented candles and a sachet of bath salts or confetti and a few bath pearls ( check out £1 shops for these ) and a face cloth or scrunchie and essential oil.
I done one as an example and photographed it and added it on to a flyer and added it into my campaigns 14-18 but also added that I could do this for birthday ect just to ask. I have done one recently for a customers daughter.
Try to colour co-ordinate and keep the scents similar.
you can also personalise it slightly dependant on what you have in stock.
I added in a wee sachet of hot chocolate too just for the added extra.
Will see if I can find a pic, although my mother board died last month so lost loads but might have previously burnt it to disk.
if you have for example,
Naturals Strawberry & Guava 2 in 1 shampoo & Conditioner - offer price £1
Naturals Strawberry & Guava Shower Gel - offer price £1.25
Naturals Strawberry & Guava linen spray - offer price £1.75
2 Scented Spice Apple tealights ( I use Prices they are gorgeous ) - buy them 6 for £2.53 so works out 85p per basket
strawberry bath salts - buy it online for £7 per kg
confetti check online anything from 50p upwards
Bath pearls red - can get them online 1p each
red face cloth - £1
essential oil - £1
£10 roughly to make the above including basket, shredded paper and netting & ribbon
Sell for £15 -20 dependant on the quality of your products.
If you have time you can also sell them at trade fairs near christmas and means you can buy in bulk saving on delivery costs.Life is what you make it;)0 -
Summer-Caitlin wrote: »Also I have enclosed a note offering a free gift for orders over £20, people at work and no doubt customers too will ask me what this free gift is, but I didn't intend to name a free gift. I know plenty of you do the same promo and I wondered what kind of gift you think would be suitable for an order over £20?
Thanks again!
I always call it a 'mystery gift' which leaves the field openI also wrap it in tissue paper, which adds to the mystery and means they don't think i've put it in by accident!
As to value, I normally keep it around the £1 mark, unless it's a very big order and I have freebies from gift sets (U by Ungaro shower gel springs to mind - got it in one of the bonus bags)'Better to ask a silly question than to make a silly mistake' Elliebee's Mum

Don't spend too much on individual gifts, unless of course they are for family/friends or customers who spend loads! What I've been doing is ordering things when they are BOGOF, or in 4 for £5 and getting a variety of bubble baths etc, a few customers ordered 2 shower gels this time, which were in the 4 for £5 last time, they are paying £1.50 so I've ordered them in the previous book and ordered 2 hand washes. Means I'm not paying too much extra for them, you'll soon get the hang of it!
For ordering things out of the clearance bit of HT, I'd be careful - I really wanted some shower gel for myself, but it was out of stock! Definately better to buy things that are current in my opinion unless they are a bargain as then the people can re-order them in the future. Having said that, I've ordered quite a few bottles of the cherry blossom bubble bath at £1, and also the naturals shampoo & conditioner that is 75p in C7 sale book (so with discount an absolute bargain!!!) - it isn't current, but I've noticed that they are bringing out in C9 I think a shower gel, linen spray, and moisturiser that is in the same scent!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
