Avon Hints and Tips (Part 2)

So I put out my books again and will collect tomorrow afternoon. I managed to put out 8, a measly 8, as in total I got 12 back out of 16. I need to keep one back for myself for reference, 1 for local hairdressers, 1 for my mum and 1 for my friend. I already have 3 out at work and one at the Post Office. It really is difficult working from 20 books. My SL said she will do her best to get me more as at this rate I don't even think I will be able to do half my territory.
Only one order so far, will have to hound my colleagues and see if they want anything!
So if I want to order something for myself do I order it as a normal customer from the book? I want to maximise my profit and am not sure how to do it. Unfortunately there are several things I want! Btw if I order stuff from Hello Tomorrow, does that count towards my order total? I know I don't get commission on these items.
ThanksAvon Rep

Hi
My SL only gave me 20 for C8 and 20 for C9, she is in the process of trying to get me more as I told her it's impossible to cover my territory with 20 cats. She said I can definitely order more for C9 and so forth. However I don't think I should be paying for more in C9, as isn't that what the £15.00 reg fee is for? I mean 20 books just isn't enough for 180 houses.
I do intend to have one side of the street on a different campaign though starting next campaign. So even split down the middle, 90 houses on one, and 90 on the other, 20 isn't enough! So if I wanted to buy another 40, that is going to cost me £9.18. What do you think? I do think I should get at least 40 free for my first 2 campaigns. That way I would only have 2-3 drops per campaign and all my territory would be covered. It's not like streets are the only places I would put my catalogues, I have family, friends and work colleagues that I need to show.Avon Rep

I would think you should get more books off your SL - thats no way enough! I don't think you should have to pay for more for your 1st camp - but i'm not sure how it works .
how about (if you have time) say keep only 1 back for your mum and friend = give to your mum for a few days and then your friend for a few days ? thats the only thing i can think of sorry !0 -
kirstoff - I would love to do that but the friend lives further south. It is fine for my friends here to do that, but as she is being kind enough to buy from me, I though it best if I send her a cat and let her keep it.Avon Rep

From a new SL point of view... we have to pay for the books ourselves and Avon will only credit us for 20 books for each campaign therefore 40 books total for each new recruit and that's only if the new Rep places their first order on time above the minumum order value. Some reps go on to never place an order so Avon don't credit us and the cost of those books is lost and it is sadly a common occurence.
I totally agree that 20 isn't enough for reps that do territory but we're a bit stuck really. It's not even as if I can balance the cost of books against getting commission from my reps as I don't have enough in my team yet so don't earn any.:jAvon Rep since C18 2008 (Sales Leader since C7 2009) and Usborne Rep since March 2008:j0 -

Could you not
( just a suggestion )
start your new signed reps on the campaign before and allow them to use your old brochures which would kind of balance up the costs slightly.
I think it is something Avon need to look at to be honest.
I am just glad I don't have a territory to cover.Life is what you make it;)0 -
