Avon Hints and Tips (Part 2)

I think, especially if people have never had Avon before, then it will be a little slower for you - people will probably want longer to look at the books and won't be aware of order deadlines/delivery dates and think they can take as long as they please!
Taking a book to work & giving one to the cleaner is a great idea - I asked one of our cleaners at work if she had Avon, she said no so I asked if she wanted a book. She spent £5 last time, and £5 this time - she's a lovely lady, and she even gave me the money the day before she knew I was bringing her order in as she didn't want to forget! There is also, apparently (I've never met her!) another Avon lady at work, which the cleaner told me about - but she said she'd never had a book from her as she had never been asked. So I think she was pleased that I'd bothered to ask her. You might find the same at your place.
For getting your books back - I found the people who didn't put the books out on the day I was collecting, didn't bother sometimes even though I had popped a polite note through asking them to put the book out even if they weren't ordering. However, knocking again a couple of days after worked - I was surprised how many people had them on a table in the hall, not even opened.
If people don't want to look, far enough - but why keep it inside??? I don't understand the logic of it!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

I'll have to arrive early in the office tomorrow to catch the cleaner as she's normally gone by 8.30am but I'm sure it will be worth it, she's an absolute sweet heart, very chatty and smiley, plus she's mentioned a teenage grandaughter in the past so theres potential for orders from family members...

Random update - managed to work it so I get 2 free handbags
So one for me, and the other either for my Mum or my sister to say thanks for showing the book to their friends

Hiya, I'm back with the questions again...
I've been doing Avon since C18 and am now on C5 so feel I have a good grasp of how it's done, plus my second baby is now here and I am managing okay with both of them (a 2 year old & 6 week old) so feel ready to look into becoming an SL. My ASM has been desperate to sign me up since day one and has told me the very basic info i.e. £25 for business pack, demo bag (which I'll get through iNRDP anyway but 2 is always nice I guess) and samples (again got LOADS through iNRDP already) but I was on the hunt for more info from you guys that are already SLs first.
Do you think it would be feasible for me to do with 2 such small kiddies that have to go everywhere with me?
If you sign up your other half, how does it effect their tax and NI seeing as they'll have to declare themselves self-employed as well as employed full time?
If you have already signed up your OH and assigned them territory, who's name do you put in the books for customers to contact - yours or OHs?
Do you put the least sales on your own order plus brochures etc to achieve HOV and then stick the rest on theirs to get the extra commission? This would obviously push their earnings up come self assessment time whereas I don't work at all so can earn more before having to pay tax and NI..
Do you have to live in the same area as your Rep e.g. could I sign up my MIL who lives 50 miles away and sister who lives 250 miles away if they wanted to do it?
Do you find being an SL to be very time consuming or stressful?
Do you enjoy it?
Where else can I get info before proceeding? I've read about Flissy's so will look into that but is there anywhere else I should be checking out?
Thanks:jAvon Rep since C18 2008 (Sales Leader since C7 2009) and Usborne Rep since March 2008:j0 -
Just been out to collect in the books I posted through doors on Monday, and out of the 30 I posted, I've got 9 books back, with one order for £21.50, which is not too bad I don't think!!! I am going to go and knock and ask for the books back later with my O.H!
So that takes my total orders so far to £90, quite pleased as I only got signed up on Monday!!!
Off to pop the 9 books I got back through some doors! Hope your all well. x0 -
Gutted. Just emailed my ASM and she sent the list.. ive slipped back to number 3.
