It's worth reading the 'Captain Crunch' bit on the latest incarnation of the website - £5 off voucher in yesterday's Sun newspaper (one per customer
)
Having said which, does anyone have the Sun and can tell us all the code please?
Also worth noting that the special offers section (on mine anyway) has the Clinical Eye Lift at £5, which is useful as my customer has ordered it at £15
hi,
have sent you a pm as not sure could post code here.# 017 -Sealed Pot Challenge 8

hey I'm pretty new here, (although I have been hovering for some time!). I started as an Avon rep last week... so have had about 9 days in which to door drop and collect orders in time to place an online order, but I did it and by buying a couple of things for myself pushed just over the HOV of £148 which I was very happy with
:j
I have a fantastic ASM, she has been very supportive and helped me out with extra brochures and invoices. I have been given a village to cover which I think is somewhere between 200 and 300 houses. For my first 'campaign' I visited 39 houses and got 7 orders totalling £139
I'm now waiting for my first delivery but after hearing some of your problems am a little nervous...
Do you guys go into their houses and test out the make-up? All I've done so far is drop the brochures through doors and then pick them up 3 days later.
However I have found that for quite a few people 3 days isn't enough so I've now decided to have set days, Fri to Tues, and then Fri to Wed when I know I'm making deliveries.
I offered a free sample with the first order, and will probably have a free gift for 3 consecutive orders or something.
Because I have a fairly rural area I included a little note with a box to tick if you no longer wanted to be contacted (it's a very small gossipy place and I don't want to rub anyone up the wrong way!)
I find the lack of regulation/recording of reps a bit annoying, a day after I was made a rep someone on my lane (of only 5 houses) was also made one. Luckily she has only decided to sell to friends and family, but it could've been really awkward if we had to split the area. Also it seems hardly fair to offer things on the website that are in the current campaign, are they just trying to get rid of reps slowly??
Anyhow I am enjoying it so far. I agree with the different 'classes' of houses, I had a very middle-class woman snub me this evening when I asked for my brochure back (cheek! We're not poor but I know I have to earn my money, not wait for someone else to earn it for me, or inherit!)
I have found all your tips really useful, thank you :T

Hi everyone
I'm just trying to plan what to do when I first get my books. When you all started, did you knock on the doors of the houses in your territory and ask them if they wanted a book? Or did you just put the books through the door and ask them to leave them out.
I think I would rather know the people that wouldn't want the book as it obviously saves time down the line and I could do more whilst buying fewer books too. I just didn't know if it was best to knock on the door or just put the books through the door and maybe put a slip in there saying if they didn't want the book in the future to tick a box or something.
I will get round to reading through this thread soon but it is mammoth so apologies if this has already been mentioned.

Hi, I'm pretty new too but I put borochures through all doors that I had been given. I planned to go back and collect a few days later. Some had left them out - some hadn't. Those that hadn't I knocked on and you'll find if they don't want one, they'll tell you. People even put notes in if they get it elsewhere or something.
I intend to keep doing that for the next two campaigns (i've done one) and then I'll stick a note in asking if they'd still like to view the brochures. This way it'll save me time and brochures as I hopefully want to expand soon. Need more houses, only have 66 atm!0 -

It's okay, apart from don't bother giving customers the sale leaflets and don't expect anything from the clearance section of Hello Tomorrow to actually turn up :rotfl:
I've always put the sale brochures out, only a few things have been out of stock and that was mainly in the pre-Xmas sale brochure. I've always got the things I've ordered from HT Clearance though :T and I order from there most campaigns. xxSmall business owner 🧵 Ex MSE comper 🏆 Student loan repayer 💴 Romanian dog rescuer 🐕 Hopefully a cost of living survivor 🤞🏻0 -

Wow! No fair! I have never got an item from HT or the clearance book if I ordered it with my regular order. Ever! Just goes to show, we must have orders for completely different stuff!0 -
I'm up early today and eager to get out there to deliver my books, I'm going to put 20 out today to one of my streets then collect them on Tuesday, do you think that will be long enough? I've put a little note on the order forms introducing myself and offering a little freebie if they order over £20, worth a go isnt it to get the orders in?
One thing thats bugging me is that I still cant get on the website, it keeps saying my date of birth is wrong, do I need to contact my ASM or call Avon direct to sort it?They have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson

Ha! Finally feel like I'm getting somewhere - while I was at work last night, Avon rang, a curtesy call to see how I was getting on. OH answered, and explained to them about her not turning up & not being able to get hold of her (she's an area manager I've found out!). He said the guy was very understanding and said he would email her & ring her to make her get in contact with us & sort things out.
She may be able to ignore me, but I doubt she can ignore Avon themselves lol!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

The amount of time will vary for different people - the first time I left books for only 2 days before picking up, which was long enough to get quite a few orders. I also did an offer of a freebie offer - only one lady spent over £20 so didn't cost me too much! But, I think the other people may have read that, realised I was different than Rep's they may have had in the past, and so got more orders.
I'd say give your ASM or Avon a ring to get it sorted, they should be able to get it done for you.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

Totally off-topic but OH has just rung, apparently they want to get rid of 2 people per shift team where he works - and they've picked him out as one of the ones to go from his shift. Nothing official yet though - so how they can give him warning to watch himself I don't know. Probably all boils down to the fact that the HR woman has never liked him!
Just hope he doesn't loose his job, yes he works in security so hopefully would be able to get another job fairly soon, but it would be paying a lot less and with how much the bills have gone up we wouldn't be able pay everything
Fingers crossed eh!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0
