  • Thanks for that deanos.

Is it fun with some good freebies? (that's my daughter lol). Or is it a bit of a chore? Hubby doesn't really want me to take anything else on so a bit of arm twisting may be the order of the day!

Its hard work to start with but once you get a customer base its very easy, we spend about 3-4 hours on it every campaign, but you will need to spend alot more when you start
  • Think I may go for it then. May have to arrange things so hubby doesn't notice lol - probably wouldn't be difficult

i emailed avon and asked about the VAT and i got a reply the same day. This is the reply they sent me:

Thank you for your recent email.
The value of earnings will depend on the value of your order. Please see below for details.
    Order value Earnings
    £76 - £143.99 24%
    £144 and over 30%

The order value includes brochures, net items and demonstration products. Earnings are paid on customer price items only, after VAT has been deducted.

The rate of VAT is variable depending on the type of goods purchased i.e. cosmetics or clothing items. This applies to all regular campaign orders and any additional orders received. The exception to the above statement is on Fixed Discount items. Generally these items are listed inside Hello Tomorrow.
Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
    Regards,

    Avon Customer Service Centre.

Thats not a proper reply it , in fact its twaddle and not relevant , the VAT is not variable its a fixed amount.

All items in the brocure will attract VAT except kids cloths and books which are vat exempt

We need to know if brocure prices are going to be reduced to reflect the change in duty from 17.5% to 15% , and our invoices should show a 2.5% discount to reflect this.
  • I've just been out to collect my final batch of brochures, got all in except 1, so that's 2 I am still hoping to get back. One lady told me she'd already ordered from someone at work, but would like me to keep dropping her brochures as she'd rather get it from me :)

So, without MY stuff, my I have 16 customer orders that come to £283.25 in total. I'm ecstatic !!! This is my first campaign & I've only got 2 streets 'territory', only 45 houses & it's all ppl who don't know me, so I've yet to prove myself reliable to them. I know a lot of the orders are Christmas gifts, but I'm still over the moon :D

So far it's been about an hour's work max, but I imagine the order sorting & packing will be the longest job. My darling Mum has offered to help me, bless her, then of course I've got the delivering & money collecting.
  • That's brilliant Woooooooosh - well done you!:j

Deanos - couldn't agree more! It couldn't be that they don't know the answer, could it..................nah! As if.............. I'm still waiting for an answer too!

  • Had my 1st order from a customer other than friends and family !!!..... Know that its the start of a long road and its only £31 but its a beginning - Gave me the motivation to get the books back out again and do another round. I have about 100 houses - How many books per campaign do you think I should order ?

Fantastic work Woooooooosh - Hopefully I will be able tor report something as good nearer the 14th December when my next order has to be in... xx
  • The more books you can buy the better, they get alot cheaper aswell.

It also means you go out less times.

Well done all of you on your first orders... stick at it
