Ditto what Elliebie said. My ASM encourages me to knock, but I haven't done so yet. Keep planning to but haven't yet built up the courage! There are valid points to knocking, but it's not essential by any means. The main valid point of dropping is that someone who may have said no may flick through the book if it just lands on their mat. Whether your ASM says knock or drop, listen to what she says, then drop anyway. That's the beauty of it being your own business.

Johanne - it sounds like you've had a really crappy night. Sleep on it, and see how you feel tomorrow. Most of the time it sounds like you're doing ok, so weigh that up against the rubbish days. It'll all be much better in the summertime!

Well my Avon delivery got delivered to the closest Rep to my old address! Thankfully she was really nice and I collected it tonight. Also spoke to my ASM who was not pleased that Avon hadn't changed my address after I'd requested it 3 times, said I'd called but couldn't afford to be on hold for 7 minutes when calling from my mobile. So she spoke to them directly. Then at just after 9pm I got a call from Avon to confirm my new address so it should now be sorted! Thought Avon were a bit cheeky calling so late but at least it's done!

Got the Josie scarf and gloves set for myself and it's really nice! Not super soft but that's because one of the bands is silvery sparkly! That doesn't even show up in the book, so hopefully wearing it will lead to an order or two..

I thought of wearing only Avon make up but not sure I can be bothered to wear make up every single day, we'll see how it goes. I'm deffo planning on a few perfume samples to give away & wear myself, to encourage ppl I meet to comment on my sniff

Tempted to try Avon bras. I love my fancy bras, I think it's cos I grew quite big (well DD cup) at age 16 & back then you couldn't get pretty 'little' bras in my size & for a girl that age it was traumatic. Now when I see 3 I like I just have to buy them ALL if they fit nice. What's stopping me is the thought I might end up flashing to total strangers - sober (I know me - I get carried away sometimes).

Mini, I like your idea of putting the delivery due date on the labels too, just not sure how it'd work if I reused the brochures (mind you I don't have enough territory to keep half a campaign behind at the mo).

I thought same as you Mini, that I'd stop delivering brochures to every house after a few abortive attempts, but I thought that I might drop them a flyer every now & again, reminding them I'm here if they every want anything, or could be new ppl in the house & I didn't know. I thought that'd be a cheaper way of touching base every so often.

It needs to be a image so all i did was did a "screenshot" and saved it as a jpeg in Paint

Had my 1st order delivered this morning -

1) Why dont they pack things into the boxes better ? I had 3 boxes and they were all half empty - What a waste ??
2) One item is the Sunrise Alarm Clock which when I ordered online said it has limited stock but isnt in the box and on my paperwork it says out of stock and not to re-order - This doesnt look great as I have confirmed to my customer that they item was in stock as it didnt give an out of stock (as it did with some other items ) when I ordered online - Now I look stupid !!!

On another note - Went to collect my 1st lot of brochures as just did friends and family last campaign and had put 18 books out and only got 5 back - I put them in a freezer bag with a personalised note on them saying please leave outside. The ones that didnt leave them out I have put a note through the door saying please leave them outside and I will go around again tomorrow and see and also knock as it is Saturday and they might be in. Didnt get any orders either - Bit demoralizing really but maybe I am expecting too much too soon !!!

Johanne your newsletter is brilliant! I was trying to do a similar thing with different boxes and stuff so it's not one long read.

Just uploaded the draft C1 newsletter, which I would be using, were it not for the fact you're meant to ask for permission to use the logos. So of course I won't be using it.

The logos are a definite no-no! And don't assume you won't get caught out... because I have heard that reps have been issued with cease and desist notices by Sony's legal for using the 007 logo already, and you never know who will get your brochure - for example, in a previous job one of my clients was a high-up employee of Wesco, who deal in licensed products, and I happen to know that he lives on my territory. If I happen to have one on my territory, there's no reason that anyone else might - you'd be surprised where these people can live!!!

Salsaaddict, the boxes are like that because many of them are picked and packed my robots. Really useless robots and that. I know it was a rhetorical question, but I asked once and this is what I was told!!!

I have a sunrise alarm clock going spare, you might not make any commission if you pay for postage, but it might be worth it to keep a customer happy. If you want it, PM me.

I love the Avon bras, I think they're great, and yes, I have been known to flash them to some of my customers (but only in context ) I also try to make sure I'm wearing Avon make-up, even though I'm not a make-up person, Avon perfume, Avon handbag, Avon brollie... it only takes someone to casually mention that they like it and you've got yourself a customer! I sold a few Ungaro this way and one of them has gone on to become a regular customer!
