Which labels are these? I missed a tip

Just found this tip tonight ...

TAKE TIME OUT: Tea Bags. Attach a tea bag to the brocure, giving customers incentive to relax and look through the brochure. This small luxury will increase your customer loyalty and gives you great word-of mouth referrals.

    :T

Thanks Mel. Decided to go for that idea myself. In addition to that, for the customers who've ordered this time I'm also including a mini Kit Kat (have a break, have a look at your Avon book!)

    Tea bags: Lidl - 80 for 28p !!!
Mini Kit Kats: Lidl - 20 for £2.45
Coloured printer paper: Poundland - 120 sheets (4 colours) for £1

I've spent most of the afternoon doing a brochure letter with a space for a teabag, so if anyone would like to shortcut the process and crib mine, then just pm your email addy and I'll be pleased to share.

SERIOUS WARNING HERE: If you're going for the chocolate idea, then please make sure you don't just put them through doors, as chocolate can kill a dog. (Off topic I know, but Lily pollen will kill cats, so if you have a cat and like lilys then cut out the stamens.)

  • Ok going to go to Wilkos tomo to get some labels (after my Avon delivery has arrived). How do I know what spacing to do etc so they print right.
  • oh btw, I ordered a free stamp & 250 free business cards from Vistaprint the other night - just paid for the postage. I've had my name & "Your Local Avon Rep" & my phone number put on the stamp. Thought it'd be handy for bonking on the blank contact square on the back of the brochures.

Also got an A4 binder today & a load of cheapo Wilkos clear pockets. Thought I'd stick a label on & do one per customer, to keep their old order forms filed in, for info at a later date (I read somewhere that someone found it handy to check the handwriting when someone forgets to put their address on their order forms).

I used v*staprint for EXACTLY the same order, very nice cards, stamp is a bit small

but please be aware they some times charge you 10 pounds a month because by purchasing goods through a "free" deal you in effect sign up to their club and this has a 9.95 a month membership fee.

So check out which ever card you paid with.

  • I used vista and was being charged for this club.. i emailed them and said i had just been made redundant and hadn't signed up for it and couldn't afford it, also didn't need it.

they sent me a lovely email back and refunded all the money.
  • for the people attaching tea bags to order forms? are you using individually wrapped and shop sealed tea bags? Im maybe being fussy but wouldnt like one out a pack thru my door unsealed etc

Business cards/flyers - everyone aware not to mention avon or use logos?

My orders going in tonight, not got much this time around as territory not sorted out yet despite being in touch with new ASM - who aint replied to email! Considering just sticking to people i know and forget the profit bit of it!

Wow, you were lucky, I did get my money back but when I spoke to Tesco's finance they said that the company was a massive problem and many customers found it difficult/impossible to get their money back.

I don't even know how I "signed up" for it ? do you ?

I see where you're coming from MLR, but I don't think anyone will actually expect to use the teabag - it's really there just as a marketting tool, rather like the pen in the surveys :D The Kit Kat, however, could be another matter (but then it's individually wrapped)...............

  • I was going to go with individual hot chocolate sachets or wrapped tea bags.

Ok, I really came to ask you guys about tax.

my AM said not to bother registering when I started three years ago, when I expanded my area I asked again and she said no.

any how I was getting really paraniod about it.

so I phoned up. First Bloke I spoke to was VERY rude but said that as I didn't earn that much they (tax people) would not pursue a claim against me. they wold send forms for me to fill in, an exemption form and forms to list my earnings.

any how he ended the phone call, so I rang back the day and got a woman who said they would pursue a claim for tax and Nat. Insurance but I could appeal. and that I wouldn't have to pay Nat. Insurance - some thing to do with small earnings exemption?

trouble is I have a bill today for National Insurance, for 275 pounds which is payable by the 29th?

    I REALLY do not understand.

I never made any money out of Avon, I "sold" to my Mum and my sister
that was why my Am advised me not to register. I can't believe by registering now it has caused me so much bloody hassle.

oh, I work full time so already make Nat.Insurance contributions.

can any one point me in the right direction?

    I wish I hadn't bothered now!

    xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Oh Buffy - poor you! Anything from the Tax/Nat. Insurance is bound to strike terror isn't it?

I must say at the outset that I'm absolutely NO expert on the subject, but I have been self employed before and paid Class 2 (?) contributions. I don't see how they can be expecting you to pay Nat. Insurance if you are already paying through work.

I'm sure someone on here will have some knowledge on the subject, but my advice would be to write a polite letter detailing exactly what your earnings have been and asking for more explaination. If nothing else, it will buy you time.

I do remember once getting a letter from the Nat. Ins. people saying that I was several hundred pounds short on my payments, but after my initial panic it transpired that it was just an option to make it up to ensure my full pension (I didn't, for which I'm paying now of course ;)

    Good luck.
