Any sub-400 laptops that are medium power but more on batter life? I hate poor battery capacity on a laptop.
Also would laptops be a bit cheaper/on offer after xmas? Or at some other point? Thnking of buying one in a couple months time.0

I've had a look on the Dell outlet website but found it quite difficult to navigate so any help would be much appreciated! I'm looking for a laptop for home which has enough memory to store my music (ipod), photos (digital camera), possibly watch DVDs and to generally browse on the net. After looking for some time I have realised that I might as well pay out about £400 for a good one that will last me for a while.
Here's a couple I've been looking at, the Acer looks a better spec:

Could anyone give me some advice? Thanks0

The Dell has the faster processor, the Acer has more RAM and larger hard drive. As RAM is easily upgradeable I'd say it comes down to whether you need the larger hard drive (and whether you're prepared to have a slightly slower processor for the sake of a larger hard drive). Personally, if it were me, I would get the Dell as the processor is the one thing that can't really be upgraded in a laptop and 120GB hard drive would be plenty but up to you whether you need the extra hard drive space of the Acer or not. Here's a couple I've been looking at, the Acer looks a better spec:

I thought the most I would get out of any battery was 2.5 hours. Is this not the case?0

Just wondered if someone can help me.. Am looking at dell outlet site and have been recommended 1535, video card 256mb, processor ICR2-200, HD 250GB, Ram 3000. Please could someone explain what all that means and the difference between 1535 and 1525 (1525 does not show video card - but seeings as I dont know if the card is needed can I go for 1525 instead) If an totally honest I haven't got a clue what all the gargon means lol!!!
 Many thanks0

The 1535 has 3GB of RAM to the 1525's 2GB.
The 1535 uses an ATI moblilty card, the 1525 uses on-board graphics.
The 1525's Core 2 duo is slightly faster, 2GHz as opposed to the 1.83GHz of the 1535.
What do you want to use it for?Dave. :wave:0
