Hi all,
Am new to the forum so bear with me! ha ha
My husband bought me a reconditioned Compaq CQ61 off ebay for my birthday for £238!!! Its fab, its got a glossy cover and has Windows 7 on it! It came in the box with the packaging and everything- only trouble was no warranty although they offered a 7day peace of mind warranty. I went back on for my mum as she loves mine but that particular seller said they had sold out -( Getting more in next week though- just in time for her birthday!!! :O) Just not sure whether to wait til next week and get that or get her the HP6735S which looks great but not as glossy. Anyone got any ideas? She only needs it for photos and online shopping.
They have also got emachines for £170 but I really dont know enough about emachines. Its only £170 though so if anyone else knows if they are any good, let me know pls!!!
Was trying to put some links so ppl could have a look and help me out but it said I am not allowed. The seller on ebay is tradeelectricalsuk so if anyone gets chance to look at the products I mentioned and pass me their opinion, that would be great ta! Or if you know anywhere else that does bargains too pls!!! Thanks!!!0 -

Not good at all. Maybe you should have run a price check. But I'm sure that you wouldn't want it anyway.0 -

No warranty?? No thanks. Argos Clearance offer a full twelve months, as would anyone else with confidence in the products they sell.
Unless you have technical experience with laptops, avoid buying a laptop with no warranty..
If your post is genuine....e-machines with no warranty? No.
If you don't mind your mum having a better laptop than yours, you can get this ASUS X5DIJ for £264. Comes with a full twelve month warranty.
Until recently they had this ACER ASPIRE 5315 for £199.99 delivered with a full twelve month warranty. Boxed and brand new, not Grade C as in your link.
So I would say, get the ASUS or wait for something cheaper to pop up on the Argos Clearance website.
A no warranty machine would need to be a fair bit cheaper to be attractive.
Comparison between your laptop which cost £255 delivered, a Grade B refurbished product with no warranty. Link

None will come with that software, unless you pay for it separately. Easy to obtain at a much lower price though. What is the meaning of a "bit of gaming"?0 -
'bit of gaming' sorry her words... she occassionally downloads basic games/puzzles etc but not much
How and where do you get cheaper software?
Thnx in advance0 -
Shes managed to save up £300( god bless) I will add if necessary but am looking for 'good value' (definitely not top end ) a machine that she can 'grow' into so typical teenager's capacity/functions0
