Again as above, more info needed - will you be on battery power, does portability worry you, warranty length worry you, budget etc.
If you just want a cheap machine to literally surf and are going to be using mains power most of the time try googling "refurbished laptops" and see what you get as there are many companies in that market.0 -
I’m enquiring on behalf of my brother who is after a new laptop. I posted this on the I wanna board yesterday, this hasn’t had any response since I posted it so if anyone here can help I’d be ever so grateful.
I’ve had a look and the best one I can find (or at least I think it’s the best one), at a fairly good price, is the Toshiba Satellite Laptop L500-1XC which is being sold at John Lewis, the current price is £399.
A couple of the other laptops I've looked at are the:
eMachines Laptop EME525 also from John Lewis
ASDA also sells eMachine laptops as well from about £325. The hard drive to this one appears larger too.
and the Inspiron 1545 from Dell Outlet. Though according to one poster on this thread appears not to be a very good laptop.
All the same the Inspiron 1545 from Dell Outlet I suppose is similar to the eMachines EME525?? Though I’m supposing the Toshiba L500-1XC from John Lewis is better.
Can anyone recommend these or better ones? Can you explain the difference? I've an idea but would like some advice all the same. His budget is between £300 & £400.
