Thanks, I appreciate your comments.
Will look at the Fujitsu in the flesh.
NiftyDigits - I totally agree with you regarding better value online - I will try again to persuade her - the Aspire 5560G that you mentioned in an early post looks very good for the same price, way more spec than is needed, but I feel purple may still win the day.
It's a discontinued model. You'll be lucky/unlucky to find one in-store.
Seriously, leave it.0 -
Hi
I have told my daughter that if she does well in her GCSE's, I will buy her a laptop. The results come out on Thursday and I think I need to start looking at my side of the bargain. Typical use will be for iTunes , pics, surfing, school stuff. Can anyone recommend something that would be quick enough and have the adequate storage?0 -
Hi,
I have taken your comments on board and this is fast becoming my number 1 choice

Hi Slaterio - I am trying to stick to £300 but if you can look at £400 then I have seen this one http://www.comet.co.uk/p/Laptops/buy-FUJITSU-AH532-I5-6GB-Laptop/123457?_$ja=tsid:8361|prd:47868&awc=157_1345404989_60e7b88ab438d4daf871f21be4591d75&cm_mmc=AW-_-HotUKDeals-_-links-_-generic which people seem to think is a good deal and possibly £10 off thru Quidco0 -

Budget??
The one is my post 2568 is not too shabby.
Coupled with this:If you go for the ACER...
Acer AcerAdvantage extended service agreement - 3 years - pick-up and return Accidental damage included** £31.99
Type - Extended service agreement
Service Included - Parts and labour
Location - Pick-up and return
Full Contract Period - 3 years ( from original purchase date )
Repair Time - 5 business days
** Accidental damage to the screen will require a 100 Euro plus VAT excess charge.
But it your budget is less, there is still a lot available.0 -
Stores offer additional accessories in place of straight Discount. I hate the such additional's.0

Thanks. I am looking around the £300 ish mark, so this meets the brief? Anyone else have any comments?0

Mine was £350 including the extra warranty, so slightly over. For someone so young, the Accidental Damage cover could be useful if not already covered by Home Insurance.
Otherwise, there is the Fujitsu above, within budget.0 -
