Looks like I missed out on the ACER! The budget is now around £450 ish- anyone got any advice?

The Samsung in #2592 is good for the price. Though do take note of the CashBack policy and take advantage of Quidco. Today is the last day for Quidco.

Otherwise this DELL INSPIRON Q15R 640GB INTEL I3 DUAL CORE 2.2GHZ SWITCH LAPTOP - REFURB is nice for £279.99.

Contrary to the description , it will be as good as new and have the same warranty conditions as a new machine.

Though of course, you have missed out on the three year warranty with accidental damage.

Settled on the Samsung and she seems very happy with it. I am delighted because I managed to get Microsoft Office 2010 for £8.95 through my work! The only query I have is that quidco tracked it as £419 (it was 499) and the cash back due is £6.24 that is not 7% of 499?? Thanks for your assistance nifty!

£499?? How so? Clicking through Gazza's link shows £449.99

    Save a total of £50.00

    (£499.99 from 26/07/12 to 17/08/12)
Cashback will track in at the base rate of 1.5% and will update once your purchased has been approved

Don't neglect to adhere to the T&C of the Samsung CashBack.
Double check everything, so that you don't miss out.

Gazzas link goes to the lower HD. The one I settled on has a 750 GB HD.

    Hi Slaterio,

I was in Currys on Friday having a look at the £350 priced samsung - looks ok.

Would you mind giving us ( me ) your opinion of the laptop in a couple of days after you have had some use of it.

Also - did you recieve the £200 reward pack ? If so could you tell me what the conditions of use are for the £50 voucher.

    Thanks

    Gazza

Ok, so looking for a new laptop (after a few issues with the 5yo acer).

    Ideally

    HDMI connection
    Bluetooth
    Light (in weight)
    Good RAM
Good HDD (doesnt need to be huge i guess)
    Good processor
    Decent webcam
Doesnt need to have an optical drive

    Any suggestions around the 400£

General user - for some office stuff, surfing, music, movies

Did you not fix your old laptop? For the sake of £40

Hi guys, was hoping for some advise please. My laptop has died and I urgently need a new one in the next few days as planning a wedding at the moment. Budget around £300 and mostly used for internet, music, watching films, games, hdmi connection to my tv. Have seen this one getting very good reviews on Argos and was wondering if anyone here has any advise on this or mayby something else.

    Many thanks in advance.

This Toshiba Satellite L750 16L has a similar, though better spec for £229.99.

    Full specifications here

Will be as new, with the normal 'as new' warranty conditions.

If wanting to spend the full £300, you should expect a second generation i3 processor(there are a few on this thread if you take a look), not a Celeron.
