So I take it you'd go with the HP, then. Thank you ever so much for your help. I will speak to SWMBO this afternoon, and hopefully order one up!
Of course, she may well OK more money to be spent, in which case I will be looking for an even better one!
Thanks again for your help. it's much appreciated.0 -
for your usage i would probably go for the one i linked with the (better) AMD A8 cpu, better intergrated graphics and bigger hard drive, as that appears to be the best spec for your needs, and then consider how i feel the quality is when i got it due to the fact they are running a money back thingy for 21 days according to their website

and if i think the system feels weak then i might send it back and try the toshiba, of course if you get your budget raised there might be other optionsDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
Sorry, one last question before I make up my mind!
On the Dixons refurb site (sorry, I can't link...) there is a HP Pavillion g6-1220 (that you linked to above) for 319, and a g6-1228 for thirty quid more. Is there any advantage to the more expensive one? The cheaper one looks better in every way! Or am I missing something?0 -
Ah, you answered my question as I was typing a new one. So the HP g6-1220 is the way to go!0
