Very cheap, at that price you could afford to upgrade every few years!
I suppose the main problem is the single core processor, but in a few years today's mid range computers will be bottom of the range.0 -

It still outperforms the processor on my PC.
My PC: 396
Celeron M925: 878
Shame no webcam though, but many don't use them at all.0 -

- 2.3GHz processor speed.
- 3GB memory.
Intel Celeron T3500
2.1GHz processor speed
3GB DDR3 RAM memory
And
Toshiba C660 320GB 15.6 inch
Intel Core i3 380M
2.53GHz processor speed
2GB DDR3 RAM memory
Thanks for your help0 -
I've mentioned in a couple of previous posts that I've always used the Dell Outlet site in the past with good results. Might be worth checking out before making a decision.
e.g. Inspiron 1545: T4500 Dual Core, 2gb RAM, 250gb H/D, Windows 7
£248.69 + delivery
Plenty of alternatives on there usually.
Best of luck in the search.Keep smiling,

The best one? I'd go for the fastest one which is the i3 380M. It also has a 2 year warranty. http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?jspStoreDir=argos&catalogId=1500002701&referredURL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.argos.co.uk%2Fwebapp%2Fwcs%2Fstores%2Fservlet%2FSearch%3FstoreId%3D10001&cmpid=COJUN&langId=-1&searchTerms=5084760&referrer=COJUN&storeId=10001&_%24ja=tsid%3A11674%7Cprd%3A1546795If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -

If a laptop is your main computer, an external monitor is a good idea. The Toshiba just has a VGA connector. I don't know how reliable the Acer will be.If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -
grumpycrab wrote: »Yep its fine and has a 2 year warranty. The Tesco Acer (same price) has the same processor but has more memory and a bigger disk. Also has HDMI which is nice as you can easily plug the laptop into a HDMI TV/monitor.

Would you go for the Tesco one or Argos...?0
