  • If its the wedding ring you really wanted then price doesn't matter... in your case, price is a bonus!

Thanks taka :) How's the £5k a year going? I'm keeping up with the thread but only just!
Its going ok actually! *touches nearest piece of wood* :rotfl: Underbudget overall so far although I need to keep an eye on my grocery budget and my "spends" budget (ie my everything else fund). Both of these are ahead of where I want to be. I only have ~£145/~£500 left in my "spends" budget to last me the rest of 2009! :o

I'm trying to spend much less this month so have signed up for 12 NSDs on the NSD challenge on DFW. I'm terrible for buying food or toiletries I don't need etc on my way into and home from work so I'm figuring ~ 3 no spend days a week will held no end!

I'm with you on the freezer full of stuff - I have groaning cupboards too! :o Definitely a use it up month for me hence the wee food budget of £52.40 for food this month in my sig. If I manage it I'll be back on track for my food spends for the year but its going to be a challenge!
    Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

lol, truth is I let OH choose his and then searched the shops for mine  I sacrificed 1mm which leaves so more room for a shiny enternity ring :D

:T Well done taka. I'm almost half way through my funds already but I guess that's not too bad since we're almost half ways through the year already  I really have to update my signature don't I :o?

Hi MQ :hello: tis nice to see you. Well done on getting your energy bills reduced :T You've really made me think about looking into getting a new boiler, thinks its a job for next year though

Your doing brilliantly, keep up the good work. As for the boiler we had a new one put in when we moved house and it is very economical, well worth the spend.

64 days to go evab :rotfl:not that I'm counting :rotfl:Am getting butterflies when I think about it in detail but am still mainly just concentrating on getting it organsied, need to get OH to agree on some readings now.

I definitely think an energy efficient combi boiler will be the way to go and save us some space (we have the big tank). My bro got one last year and is very happy with it but the boiler has to come after the wedding, remortgage and double glazing since the boiler is working since *touch wood*

I have to take the gas/electric readings today - don't let me forget! and I have more salad seeds to sow too, must get this done....

Have you read your meters before it gets dark?

Great to hear the plans are all coming together for the Great Day.

Regarding boilers, it's an interesting question. When I did the Energy Saving Trust efficiency check, it indicated the boiler would take 21yrs to repay for itself. As you can imagine, I wasn't exactly needing to be held back from rushing out to buy one!;)

However, it may be a case of looking more carefully and replacing it, plus an electronic timer system for hot water, and thermostatic valves. That will all have to wait though until MF, and in the meantime need to figure out how to find the funds for DD to have new bedroom furniture plus same of us (and new bed) and similar for lounge.... (far too much "spend" in that, think I'll ignore for now :rotfl:)

    LOL, I did Stuart :)

stop Stuart, stop! Once you start listing all things you have to [STRIKE]buy[/STRIKE] do you'll never stop  A new bed does sound nice though;)

Weather forecast does not look good for the weekend :( We've been invited over for a BBQ tomrrow but will have to see what's happening. I've worked out that I've spent £7.50 this week so there's £10 left for dancing Sunday.

Today's tasks are to go swimming, visit friend and transfer ISA @ 1.2% to ISA @ 3.5%.

    Hope everyone's weekend is lovely

and the title sums it up  We did manage to tidy the house (apart from the black hole which is the study) and I started on the garden but left a mess to tidy up!

Went swimming :) and visited friend who seems well but board already poor thing. Didn't like the online transfer form for NatWest so the ISA hasn't been transferred, I will do it this week at lunch time.

Went to try on my wedding ring today :D its so pretty......:happyhear I am leaving it at the jewellers for safe keeping so we don't have to worry about losing it etc...

Managed not to spend anything today!
