good for the soul etc; but do buy a round on Saturday, we don't want MFW to be called "tight"!
I haven't been out to town in ages
women have an inbuilt knack of selecting items which carry the highest priceI am very good at choosing the most expensive thing and my only way of combating this is to usually look at the price first! I can spot expensive items that i want from a mile away :rotfl:
(You did want some "encouragement" didn't you?)
Quick wedding update: We gave our 'notice' to the registry today and are £60 cheaper but very happy.Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Thanks frazz, its nice to 'see' you again.
Spending update:
This month I've spent....£552 from a budget of £350:eek:
What I didn't account for was bout £120 to pay off my credit card and £110 to pay for a three month bus pass instead of just one. Least these were worth while things to spend on as they will save me money inthe long run
So where did the the other £185 go?
£13 on buying lunch - when I could have brought my own in:rolleyes:
£10 on a recepie book - which I haven't used yet
£20 on cash that I think paid for seeds and book ends for (the spending diary hasn't been working very well as I keep forgetting to update it.)
£142 on enjoying myself  I couldn't believe it _pale_ There were two meals out with friends, two nights when we went round friends and suppplied the drink and money for going out tomorrow night - It does add up doesn't it?
Hopefully Feb will be a quieter month with less excuses to spend money and I think part of the problem was that I have been using my card to pay for things not getting cash out and only spending what I had in my purse - I've been fooling myself basically
Perhaps this is a lightbulb moment? Do you think? Be nice if it was
I think I'm probably better off getting kicked up the behind by you guys rather than listening to my traitorous brain - kick away!Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

The 5k a year seems to be going well so far...only overspent £18.84 this month which is much less than usual  Have got three presents ready for Xmas already!
Am very happy with the Grocery challange :T am going to see if we can keep it up as the frezzer is still pretty full.
Have already spent £60 of my cash - half of my budget! - £40 on the bone craker (feel like I've been kicked in the back:rolleyes: ) and £20 as cash to stop me using my card (not spent yet)
There is no good reason that I can see this week that would mean I would need to spend any money so I'm going to try for as many NSD's as possible this week. 1/7 so farCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

5 out of 7 NSD's achieved! :T Cheated a bit since I was stuck in the house for a couple of days though
The snow was very pretty and I got to make a snowman :snow_grin and had a nice walk with OH on Sat.
Walking to work today wasn't much fun though - its like an ice rink in places  Am hoping that this weather means that we'll get a proper spring and summer to help my veggies along. I now have leeks, peas, mangetout, carrots, tomatoes, courgettes, radish and lettuce seeds to plant. The plan is to start them off on the window sill and then plant them out, but need nice weather to get to my compost bags!
Hope everyone is ok
(I shall be bad today and buy lunch. Will aim for another 5 NSD's this week and see how it goes.)Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Thanks SMF2
Received our mortgage statement last night which resulted in me eating a crossiant and two chocolate bars _pale_
We're only two years into our mortgage and I know that the interest is taken first but honestly ... £500 interest a month from a payment of £687!?! Its just so grumpy to see it written in black and white.
At least OH has agreed to put savings away to OP in January 2010 (when we're allowed)
Even my small £32.88 a month that I'm putting away will shave almost 2 years off the mortgage.
See.. I've almost cheered myself up :rolleyes:Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck
