Thanks Frazz. My OH's family is Dutch, I'd like to learn and then surprise them that I know what they're saying :D

I did go to libary but got distracted by the sci-fi section:rolleyes: will look for the language section next time

Been checking out all the ideas for presensts on the Special Occasion Boards and have decided to have a go at making little stockings for the tree - i think they'll be cute. :p

Still got a bushel of apples to peel, core, slice and stew to put in the freezer. They been sitting there for weeks :o I must get round to them!

Time always seems to be an issue with me too. I'm very tempted to stop doing salsa with my friend :o which would free up Monday nights and £20p/month. But then I wouldn't see her much....

Me and OH did agree to learn Dutch together (or rather refresh his) in May! We still haven't got round to it. Perhaps I'll buy a CD course for his/joint Xmas pressie... now there's an idea.

I think I need to be kicked up the bum a bit more. This weekend looks pretty busy with a party tonight, family round tomorrow and dancing on Sunday. Maybe Sunday night will be a good time for the 'apple vibe' ;)

Oh, and I spent my £5 M&S voucher (got from following advice on this site) on a box of cherry brandies (for nan) turkish delight (for mum) and ferochi things (for OH parents). Not bad at all. :A my first neutral xmas presents

Have a good time at the party!

It would be good to learn with your oh as at least you can practice your pronunciation, which I always find the hardest part of learning a language. When I spent 3 weeks in Poland with family I learnt more from them than going to Polish school every Saturday morning for years!

well done on your neutral pressies...afraid i would find it far too tempting and have to eat them all myself!!! this is why i don't do any pressie shopping until the last minute!!:rotfl:

incidentally....i'll be back on monday to make sure you have done those apples!!:rotfl:

Well it was a half done weekend....

    1. Planted out half the plants
    2. Cleaned most the house
    3. Stewed half the apples
    4. No decking done - it wouldn't stop drizzling

I did make 5 little stockings to go on the Xmas tree.

I saw Eagle Eye at the cinema - was wonderful! very good action movie, on a par with Taken which blowed us away too.

No Salsa tonight so I'm planing to go through all the finances ready for next month. Fingers crossed we've kept within the Grocery budget.

How did everyone cope with the hours difference? I had a lovely lie in and still felt like i got stuff done.

Oh, and I'm bit worried that the £ just dropped agian - 3 weeks to New York, I hope it picks up

Last night went like this ....got in house, took off coat - put on dressing gown, took off shoes - put on slipper socks :rotfl:

I truly did mean to work out the finances ........ but got distracted by a book

The two of us managed to eat enough pasta bake for 4 people :o and then had 'breath competitions' since you could actually see our breath insides!

So far the windows haven't started leaking but the steam up something glorious in the mornings. The bathroom door is refusing to shut and you have to kick the front door to get it open - since they've obviously swelled up with the cold/damp - but I'm refusing to switch on the heating till the 1st Nov. Only 4 days to go!:A
