Have you put the heating on yet?

We've had the stove on a couple of days and we filled up the wood store and coal bunker a couple of months ago (our first year using it). I'm hoping what we have now will last us the winter, but I have no idea if it will.
Only other heating is economy 7, which I'm hoping to avoid as much as possible.Parents - £4000/£0 paid

No heating on with us yet, though the kids are having hot water bottles every night and the winter pjs have come out of hiding. Our elec and gas is around £130 pcm , so definitely worth keeping it off for as long as possible.

We've had the heating on for maybe 2 hours at most so far, and that only because my fiancee was feeling cold an sneaky sneaky turned it on behind my back. I usually just tell her to get a jumper and turn if off as soon as I notice :rotfl:
Had a nice letter from EDF saying they were jacking up our unit price by quite a large amount, so am in the process of switching suppliers, desperately trying to keep everything turned off as long as possible. It's not too bad for us as we're in a reasonably new terraced house, so the house tends to retain a lot of heat.0 -
Have had it on for about half an hour since saturday, but today it's the coldest day so far. I've got my washing on the line still cause it's blowing a gale but i'm sitting in the house with a jumper and a hoodie on trying not to put it on again.0

We're in a 4 bed detached (don't mean to brag, we're only renting it!) and it is sooo cold. Have not had any heating on so far, but it is down to 13 degrees in the lounge. I usually notice the cold first and I am just putting wooly socks and jumpers on. OH never feels the cold. Kids have not complained yet so will definitly not be putting it on for as long as possible.
But this house is really badly insulated. There is virtually no loft insulation, you can feel the draught through the windows when you stand close to them. I've put some heavy curtains up etc but I'm reluctant to put loft insulation in someone elses house! The Landlord will do essential repairs only, and he doesn't consider insulation to be essential !! We don't want to put the heating on, 'cos when it's on you might as well stand in the back gardens and chuck five pound notes into the air !0 -
Not only on but ramped up now. It was a hard frost outside last night and not far off inside too!
Bloomin freezing today, so turned up the night storage heaters, one click should hopefully take the edge off the cold.0 -
Still not on for me, I wanted to the other night but 16 year old DD told me off and said 'put on a thicker jumper & socks'...maybe some of this money saving is rubbing off on her
I'm going to drag out the winter duvet's and hot water bottle at the weekendLBM 18/06/15 - [STRIKE]£20,276.64[/STRIKE]
