We don' t have ours on yet and we're in London. We have a nice fleecey blanket that lives down the side of the sofa and comes out most evenings to keep laps warm. I'm gearing the rest of the family up for a thrifty winter so they might as well get used to it now!0

who needs central heating0 -
Yep, we have fleecy blankets and a massive patchwork quilt that we get under when watching the tv. Fluffy hot water bottles, draft excluders, fluffy socks, door curtains have gone up for the winter. When we've used the oven we leave the door of it open afterwards too.
We also all have top and bottom thermals for the winter - keeping your core temp up seems to be key to it all. We wore them loads last year, they were just cheap ones off ebay, and they made such a difference. The tops are just like white long-sleeved t-shirts and easily fit under jumpers :-)

No heating on yet though. to be honest its not bad - its chilli in themorning but it just gets me moving faster - and can get a little in the evening past 9, but a jumper helps. Its its really cold (was c ouple of times last week) I close the front room doors and put the electric fire on for 10 minutes.
I was a student in Belfast a few years ago and I've never been so cold in my life! A combination of no money for heating and living in drafty old houses was not nice. I remember coming out of the shower once and being so cold in just my towel that I cried!
Now I live in London and I'm thinking it might be time to put the heating on later this week...0 -
I don't really have heating as such but will hold off for as long as possible.
Still 21.5 in my flat at the moment although with cooler weather this week I expect that will drop and I will have to get the electric heaters (I put them under the bed out the way for summer) and dehumidifier out.Mortgage: [STRIKE]Jan 11 - £91830 [/STRIKE][STRIKE] Jan 12 - £89'199[/STRIKE] May 14 - £69'999 Car Loan: [STRIKE]Jan 11 - £3658 [/STRIKE] July 12 - £0!
