  • I'm guessing the witness will have got the name of the taxi firm from the vehicle and lets hope there aren't many cars in that particular firm that have substantial damage
it was him he said he did it a few days later like a week after

he grabed it out of my hand he was in my car...then run of with it

My husbands had accidents where hes paid the person (either the garage for them or in cash).

The notes says £XXX recieved in full & final settlement from Mr XXXX XXXXX for car accident on XX XXX XX.

Why would you sign for money before you recieve it?

    Don't panic hun.

Just contact your insurance company and tell them what happened, you have the car registration of the taxi driver, they can check with DVLA.

They will then know who his insurance co is and go from there, you also have a witness who saw what happened whilst you were in the supermarket.

When you had contact with the police did you get a crime reference number? yes give to insurance company if not, get back in contact with the police as you'll need this.

So he has points on his licence.. not your problem it's his so don't worry.

You may not have your premiums go up if proven he was at fault etc.. his insurance company would have to deal with that.

To be honest we need to get idiots like that off the road, it annoys me that so many taxi drivers have forged documents to work, racist as it is but i prefer to get in a cab of a white person. several cab companies around where i live who try to rip you off, drive like idiots and it scares me.

I had a taxi reverse almost into me where i live, as it was a small road that you have to walk down to get to the road so you share that with cars he just didn't use his mirrors and said I shouldn't of been there!!! where else am i meant to walk there isn't anywhere else.

Relax chill out and good luck
Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?
  • Not sure if this still applies, but a similar thing happened to me some years ago, when someone reversed into me whilst I was parked on a railway station car park. I was informed at the time that it was useless to try and pursue anthing through the legal system as the incident occured on private property and not on the public highway. I had a witness to the event. The driver of the car involved parked and went on his way without even so much as a not on my windscreen.

I would have him done for theft too then since he stole your money ;)

  • I spent over 20yrs driving a taxi, whatever happend, the last thing we wanted either as a driver, or an owner, was for the hackney office to find out, if we had done anything wrong.
Go to your local council, they will have this driver, within hours.
