good morning all.....just caught up!!!! will this work,
    no7 nail varnish £6.25
no 17 product i.e £1.99(if there are any)
    no17 lipstick free with voucher.
    use pinky
    so £3.24 to pay...
also as voucher states one coupon per customer would i be better not using a/c:eek: so i cant be collared for using more than one(that is if printer decides to work)...
will we get away with it on 342 as also states not in conjunction with any other offer;)
    Hi hun
It should work on 3 for 2, so that would mean your total is £1.25 *smile*
    'They only had one cow!'
  • Good Morning guys and gals.
    My 2 pennorth worth....
    1) R&R at Tesco died a death, probably due to MEGA abuse of the policy by a relatively small group of thread readers who managed to walk out of the store with Xbox bundles, mobile phones and Tvs.
Now don't get me wrong, ultimately that was what most of us dreamed of, but some people not happy with getting one xbox bundle, went back again and again, and toured the country getting this particular "gliche" by the van load.
When it got to this scale, I suppose even mighty Tescos couldn't ignore the losses, and probably the bad feeling from Tesco staff who were ( still are;)) mighty miffed when you point out their over charge, and walk out with expensive items for FREE.
    R&R was withdrawn.
I have long held the view that whilst I don't sell on ebay, I don't like to slagg ebayers en-masse. I know money is very tight for me, and I also know folk who are even in deeper financial mess than I am. So if this is how they keep their financial head above water, and put food on the table for their kids ( as someone else has posted) well that is up to them and their conscience.
I am going through a divorce right now - so far having spent over £12k:eek: (!!!!!!!):eek::mad:, so I might very soon have to borrow a camera and start selling any bits and pieces of value to help pay the bills. Once I do, I wonder how long it will be before I have emptied the house of anything worth selling, and start BUYING things cheap to hopefully sell for a profit. So although I get as chigged off as anyone when gliches and mega reductions etc are missing from the shelves of my local store - but fill the pages of ebay, I just think.."There but for the grace of God go I"

    2)CHIT-CHAT
This thread has always been a fantastic, friendly welcoming place.
But, I cannot believe how many hundreds of pages are created in a couple of weeks - and having waded through most of them today.....there does seem an excessive amount of competely pointless posting. This may be due to a lot of the new regulars being relatively young, ( compare to TOB you are all very young "wink") and so used to the modern obsession with constantly texting/phoning their mates.... which has now spilled over onto places like face book....and now here.
Obviously this is great for those in the cliche, but for genuine msers who pop over a few times a week to check on what is happening at Boots to read "I'm going to bed now", "Bye. all" etc etc does get rather tedious.....I felt tempted to add "night John-Boy, Good night Marie-ellan, Good night Jim-bob..." but that's just showing my age.
I love the photos you guys post, but again, apart from clicking the thanks button, you can post "Thanks XYZ, love the makeup/baby basket/Boots haul/ etc...." without posting the whole of XYZs post again, and again and again.

MSE is a living thing, so posters and contributors will come and go (I don't recognise a lot of your 'handles'), and a lot of you tarts are relative newbies....but just think about the even newer msers if they venture on this thread and see 100 pages of posting in one week, and trying to find any meaningful information in it.

p.s You can delete any of your old posts you know. So if look back and see a post you made earlier which was chat, and wouldn't be missed by anyone ( including yourself) if it wasn't there. Why not get rid of it ? It may help keep the thread to manageable proportions.

I am not aiming this at anyone in particular, and don't want anyone to take the huff with what an Old Bag like me is saying. But last nights "Gliche" thing seems to have created quite a lot of postings about; posting or not posting, lurkers and ebayers, contributors and non-contributors. and by the way just because some people do not 'contribute' gliches etc to the Boots thread, does not mean they don't contribute elsewhere on MSE. That is why I only get to read the Boots thread about once a week as I use the Freebies and Code arms on an hourly basis (cheeky wink.....since the little pics arn't working I see !!)
Why not agree to disagree, draw a line under it, and start the weekend off fresh.
The sun is shining, some of us have some coupons to use up today, so

Good Morning All , and ......any new gliches worth knowing ? (Big Smiley Face and a wave to all ):rolleyes::rolleyes:

Yes, but inevitably, some people miss them, see others talking about them, and then ask for a re-post...so if people are having a problem with pics in the thread, me posting mine is just gonna add to the problem.

Aha, but then you could just pop up a link to the original post to show them, no? I like your pictures, plus you use Boots products so they're considerably more relevant than quite a lot of chat on here, lol. But seeing them ten times over, often in the same page, inevitably gets a bit irritating.

Better still, why not a blog or a website, to keep all your ideas together? Then you can just link over to your designs and people going for a look can see everything you've ever done at the same time which would be fab, quite honestly, because your ideas are wonderful and don't desterve to be lost in archived threads of a month ago. And you can post as many pictures, as large as you like, with detailed descriptions. You'd get a lot of readers doing this, I would think.
    Val.

I'll check back later to see if the general thought is that the chat should stop, then decide whether I should go back to lurking and not posting.

Back to Boots, I've just attached 3 of those No 17 vouchers to an email and printed them off like that so i can get 3 to a page of A4. I'm sure there is a proper way to do it but hey, not bad for a technophobe. :grins:

If anyone would like me to email them a copy of these 3 No 17 vouchers I can send them out? My addy for this forum is jellybaby@witty.com

(Would offer to print and send but my printer has just ran out of ink. OH will blame my Boots obsession for printing out shopping lists and vouchers *runs and hides* LOL)
  • Good morning everyone!

Well, before I get up from bed and before I catch up with this thread, just want to say

a huge huge thank you to Sonee2405!!!!!

I was looking for the lisa eldridge pallette earlier because I missed that GWP and couldn't find it anywhere in my locals, I asked for help on the forum, some very kind people such as Bloaty (thanks bloaty! )offered to help. When I saw Sonee's post that she found some reduced, I pmed her. She went all the way next day trying to get me a couple but they all disappeared. Lovely Sonee then offered me hers  I feel very guilty of accepting it, but Sonee insisted me taking it and posted it straight way yesterday, she totally understands "the more you can't have it, the prettier it looks" theory, haha :rotfl:

Anyway got out of bed just now, found this lovely pink package from Sonee of course, yeaaaaaa :D , and it's the lovely pallete, and 3 more other bits (No7, MF) too :shocked: What a surprise!!!!!! (I'm really going to roll over on the floor now:rotfl: ).

And she didn't even want anything return, not even No7 voucher, not SAE (you know the package is not light), no matter how I request. The only thing she asked on the note is to do some makeup picture like MrsBB (which might even take a long time coz now I'm going to only admire and stare at the lovely pallette rather than use it for long time, haha :rotfl: ).

Ok, sorry for the chatting and long post, but just couldn't find any other way to thank Sonee! To be honest having joined this thread for a few months, I know people here are very friendly and helpful, but now I'm still amazed by the extent people are helping each other out selflessly. You ladies are just so unbelievably generous and kind and ... (I'm so moved and speechless now :o )

Thank you ladies especially Sonee again!!!!!

    :rotfl:

What MOC can you use in Asda for the lynx, oooh how exciting cheaper than £2 for 2 lynx, sons will be pleased.
  • I'm another fan of MrsBB's make-up pics so please don't stop!!

I can see both sides of the chat argument here. I work full time and can't log on during the day so it takes me 2 hours every evening to catch up (time I don't always have) and as others have stated there's quite a few goodnight posts which obviously don't take long to read but do clog things up unnecessarily. Another thing I find annoying is when a new thread is started (and it's not just this one) someone nearly always posts "oh a shiny new thread" and nothing else. Is that not just stating the obvious!?!

On the upside I love the friendly banter and people's stories of their child's latest antics - that really cheers me up after a stressful day.

I don't post regularly as I often find that by the time I log-on what I want to say has been said several times already that day so I don't bother but on this occasion I want to have my 2p worth.

    P.S. Salduck - good luck tonight!! x
