Went into Boots this morning to use the last of my TD vouchers, and the young SA who served me got in a pickle and couldn't add the 200 points from the mag. He went to find someone to do it, who obviously accessed my card details, and noticed I've used the voucher a lot (I think I've probably had about 15 mags, as I get one every day with my lunch). She came over to me and told me the mag/coupons were limited to one per customer, took a note of my AC card and said she was ringing the AC Card Helpline for some advice. I made a quick exit once I'd got my shopping!
Will they remove the points? Cancel my card? It has £150 on it. Is it worth spending it all straight away, do you think?
Sorry to hear this happened, and I'd say yes, spend the points! It seems like every time someone on here has said an SA took note of their Ad card number to "look into it", it wasn't long before their card and points were withdrawn! If you are really attached to those points or were waiting for something at Christmas, then buy things you can return to get the points back on your card later (if you still have it later). Otherwise, treat yourself to lancome, a camera, whatever, and enjoy it!
If the only thing you've done is get lots of mags, you *might* be ok. You'd have room to argue, but that doesn't mean you'd get the points. But I assume you use a lot of mags for the same reason many of us do -- you've gotten multiple 200 points on TD and multiple TS glitches, along with who knows what glitches in the past! Sure, you can argue your case -- but why risk being able to argue successfully? When it comes down to it, Boots can take your points for no reason if they want to.0 -

100% agree with this. I personally would be spending those points immediately. You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that

Only thing I noticed yesterday were the small photo albums, those "brag books", reduced from £5.00 to £1.50 and still bogof. I was scanning those SELs like a lunatic (think 'action man' eyes) but didn't see anything else...... very disappointed :rolleyes:You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that

I have noticed quite a few people had been having this happen with excessive use of vouchers on their card. Most of the coupons do say '1 per person', but if this was the case then the till should be programmed to only accept it once, I know this may be hard to do though. Also they should limit mags to one per person, I dont think its fair to upset people and take their points off them for something that isnt really our fault, yes we are using more than we should but who wouldnt if there is a chance too? Im sure some SA's have even done it more than once.
sarahg1969 - I would spend my points if I had that much, as do you really want them to go to waste?
I have been feeling bad the other day and was thinking what would happen if I lost mine but as I only have £16.xx Im not going to be that upset.
Sorry for the long post but it is something that I have been thinking about recently.
xx
I agree, and honestly, I've been spending my points as fast as I get them now. I wouldn't even keep the £16.xx on there for long -- I'd spend it or buy a few JK nail fails to get enough for a lancome gwp or something. Ooh, you have enough for the new no7 mascara and gwp that comes out tomorrow!
Seriously, I think Boots should fix its systems and make its policies clear to customers and staff, and if they did that there'd be no need to punish customers as they seem to be doing. But they simply aren't going to do what makes sense; it's obviously not part of their problem-solving process. So I really hate to say it (or think of it happening at all), but I think more people will find their cards pulled in the next few months. The worst bit I think is if you lose your card, it would be a bit depressing to read this thread, and you'd miss the lovely people on here!0 -
Morning ladies, god this sight is so addictive, I really should be doing housework at the mo, but can keep away :rotfl: Just to let you know my local boots was giving away samples of Lancome Magnifique yesterday and a wee card saying £10 worth of points when you buy ANY 2 Lancome products, 1 to be fragrance or skincare. (is it just me or is that not ANY 2 products
) Anyhoo the perfume is gorgous (im very fussy). im posting this as The Estee Lauder sample had run out so this is a nice(r) alternative.
Good luck Mrs BTVB
and hope you all get some good bargains with the til spits, im so glad I dont have any, I would be so stressed :rotfl::rotfl::santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
So do people think that if your points were taken off you for excessive use of vouchers from mags, you may be okay, I have used a lot of TS vouchers and am worried that i may get in trouble? xx:jHas saved so much money since joining this forum, thanks to all you kind people out there :j0
