How to use coupons as cash discussion

It probably won't work if it is a Tesco specific code. But if the coupon was supplied by the dog food manufacturer and was for £5 free dog food then yes it will probably work. Whether any comment is made depends on the cashier. I usally hand over a mixture of coupons, some I have bought the product and some I haven't and just say "will any of these work?"ilovefreegle.org - give it away don't throw it away0

Nine years ago I used to work in Safeway Anniesland in Glasgow, their policy was to accept any coupons as long as that store sold the item, when I got a transfer to King Street Aberdeen store, 7 years ago, there was one cashier in particular that wasn't too keen in accepting coupons unless you bought the item on the coupon. I am a big coupon fan, but in saying that, I woudn't buy something just because I was getting money off. The way I see it is, 'A bargain is only a bargain if you really need it.'Like good food and drink?
Try Hotel Chocolat and Baileys.

I was told in Tesco on Saturday 17th Jan that they have changed their policy and only accept Safe coupons off the internet and now only 10% of the value of your shopping - I well disappointed. Anyone else had this latest change of policy in their tesco store?0

Depends on who serves me!!!:D
Sometimes it is 10%, sometimes they take the lot and sometimes it is 10% but the cashier can't work out the amount and so takes say £6 off a £30 shop!!! One time, they even refused the lot!!0 -
You will not be able to use internet printed MOC's in Sainsbury's as they do not accept them. :mad:Like good food and drink?

Strange, I have used them there before, although you have to buy the product as the SAs know their policy (usually...).
In fact there have recently been coupon campaigns with internet printables specifically for Sainsburys (e.g. Pertwood Muesli was one example which was on Couponnet a little while back, and Huggies recently had a free baby essentials pack to pick up at Sainsbugs using a printable coupon). I used both there without any problems.
I reckon you've been told this by a cashier or Supervisor who simply don't know about printable coupons, there are loads of clueless staff out there. One once said to me:
'I can't take that dear it looks like a photocopy' (no it isn't, I replied patiently)
'well we don't take e-coupons anyway...' (doh! it's not an e-coupon it has an instore barcode!). She only believed it when I asked for a Supervisor who said my moc was OK.
Don't be afraid to politely question what you are told instore. Sainsburys DO take internet coupons if you are buying the exact product stated.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Well it definitely changed, officially, to 'only if you buy the product' (as you say).
But then this week, pondie emailed Asda HO and got sent the old policy as a reply! She's gonna take the email instore and try it I think (either they have changed the official policy back or the HO person who replied to pondie was on holiday when it all changed).
I expect it won't have changed back so soon...but would be happy to be proved wrong as it gives us couponers more places to shop.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
