Katgoddess - looking forward to hearing about your experience, I am on the verge of ordering bridesmaids' dresses but can't quite make myself take the plunge just yet!!0

The dress arrived today. Two days before schedule. It looks fab and fits me great. The built in bra seems a bit big for me, but that's probably my funny shaped boobs.
I need to get the steam generator on it as it's a bit creased, and try it on again with a push up bra. But very happy with it at the moment. I'll post a picture when I get the chance.
Didn't get any import charges by the way. You pay them all up front with the UPS delivery when you buy the dress.0 -
I have never had such fantastic service from a company in my life. I can not understand how anyone is complaining about Light in the Box. The quality of each dress I received was amazing. The customer service was outstanding.
I would like to explain why. My first dealing was because I inquired about free shipping on my order. I did not qualify because it was on bridesmaid dresses only so I ordered anyways. The custom duties are high in Canada and the free shipping would have helped. 2 days later I was on the site and the free shipping was on all products. I was upset and sent an e-mail (or ticket) to customer services telling them how I felt about this after talking to someone on their chat line 2 days before. I received an immediate response telling me they would pay ½ of the customs charge because of my inconvenience
Next experience on the same order, my dress did not ship on the day they said it would, when I contacted them asking when my dress would be shipped they said within 5 days. The gave me 30% off the dress for not shipping on the exact date. The dresses arrived 4 days later (earlier then what the said)
Next experience on the same order, I ordered a chiffon wrap to match one of the dresses. The wrap did not match the dress, it was a different fabric. I did not contact customer service; I simply wrote a review stating to be careful when mixing fabrics for color matching. Customer service contacted ME and asked that I take a picture of the 2 products. With in a day they got back to me stating the dress color was not right and offered me to return it. I told them I was keeping the dress because I loved it. Well with in another day they wrote back and said they would refund the cost of the wrap and to keep it!
All returns came through on my credit card in less than 10 days. Light in the Box is amazing. I have never had such a wonderful experience dealing with a company and I was in Retail sales for over 25 years.
Thank you Light in the Box for such a pleasant transaction. You would get 6* if I could manage it!

I ordered from LITB, I cannot faulty the quality of the material however the fit and design were awful. The dresses were supposed to be made to measure and the my bridesmaids were measured by a dressmaker with over 40yrs experience, one was two inches to big and the bust and the other around the waist. The waist line on the dresses is lower than in the picture and the skirt doesn't fall as per the picture
I am fortunate that I have a dressmaker who can alter these dresses but to be honest I would not order from them again and certainly not something as importand as my wedding dress.Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."Official DFW Nerd 1365

I've ordered recently from LITB and although I didn't buy a dress, I bought shoes and a veil. I must say the shoes are great and the veil is as pictured, so I am happy with it.
The delivery was also quite quick. I did have to pay import charges, but they weren't too bad and I was expecting them.0 -
I would not recommend light in the box.
I ordered a fancy dress costume from them as the price looked so reasonable. The shipping was pricey, I paid around £14 for 3-5 days shipping. When the goods hadn't arrived after a week, I checked the order status on line and encountered the concept of "processing time". Apparently the costume will not be ready to ship until nearly 3 weeks after the order, too late for the event it's needed for.
When I asked to cancel, I was told I will only receive a 50% refund as the goods have been started on, and they have said it is clear that there is processing time. There is some small print on their web site about goods being made to order, and two contradictory messages about processing time right at the bottom of the web page, but to me shipping time means the length of time for me to receive my order!
I would avoid!0 -
but to me shipping time means the length of time for me to receive my order!
I'm sorry for your experience, but you can't blame them for it. To me shipping time is what it is. If you knew it had to be made to order, and that the goods are shipped from China, surely you didn't expect to receive it within one week?
I thought they were very clear about when I could expect my goods, much better than much companies selling cheap merchandise being able to track the order.0 -
Harpenden girl is an anti spambot or a anti spammer at least! Only one post and on this thread.:whistle:
I was very happy with my dress.Didn't get any nice pictures of me wearing it at the wedding.
I can try and post a picture of just the dress if anyone who isn't a spammer is interested.

I have ordered from Lightinbox. My recommendation is Don't!
I ordered 2 tableclothes not realising they were coming from China. The website is disguised to look like it is a UK website.
The total purchase price was £34. When the DHL man arrived he wanted a further £11 - vat plus £5 handling fee. Nowhere was I told about these extra charges or warned that I would be asked for them. It may not be Lightbox's fault but there was no warning. So, if you buy from them, you are now warned!0 -

There is warning, they do say you might be charged taxes when you click on their shipping page. I too didn't realise they were from China originally and didn't read the shipping page, but that was my not taking the time to look closer.
In the end, everything was so much cheaper then what I could find in the UK, paying a bit more was not an issue. In the end, I place two orders, one for my dress and didn't get charged with taxes, and one order for bits and bobs and did get charged for it, but all in all, I got excellent goods for a ridiculous price. I felt quite lucky.0
