  • I've been terrible, totally lost the plot with regard to housework! I've been doing the basics - dishes, laundry, etc but the vacuuming has been neglected along with dusting and tidying!
I've been so distracted by the PC.
Will try to post more on the new thread next week!

  • Hi all

Am enjoying the sunshine soooo much and so is my garden!!

PinkFairy - Hope your daughter feels better soon.
Nicki – good luck with the studying
Soappie - hope they fix your drains, hate the smell of blocked drains!
Lilme – glad you feeling better honey
kazmeister - oh gosh, yes I love them - read them like novels on some days!!
Valli - hope you get the boiler finally fixed tomorrow honey!
Boddy - wish Treacle liked being brushed, I am not sure which of us hates it more, me with my scratched and bitten hands or Treacle who yowls as if I am pulling her fur out bit by bit. I am lucky she doesn't need grooming often!

Will be back in a min with my list - just changing it cos I got a bit done this morning.

My best efforts at clearing the drain have failed so I've called out British Gas - I have drains cover with them. They'll turn up at some point tomorrow. Fortunately, the painter should be round most of tomorrow painting the house (the forecast is dry fortunately) so I won't have to wait in which is a relief.
Hope you have more success with them than me!
    And NO PAPER?
Polka - you are in my thoughts re the comp.
Just been to suppoort DS playing football game1 they lost 9-0!

I feel thwarted by this drain. Or am I using it as an excuse to not fly? :D The one that's blocked services the bathroom (fortunately not the loo!), the dishwasher and the kitchen sink. The washing machine is OK though - that drains off elsewhere.

I keep getting urges to fill a bucket with bleach and water and wash things down but then think I can't - it'll just flood out into the garden again!

Have also decided that I really ought to be here tomorrow for when they turn up. It wouldn't be fair on the painter to hang around should it start to rain. I'm also presuming he'll need water flushing through it to proved it's fixed and the painter doesn't have keys. So I've emailed my boss and said I'll go in for the afternoon if the drain man turns up early otherwise I won't be in at all.

i know what you mean Soappie, sometimes it just takes one thing to put you off your stride! For a different reason I feel in limbo - I want to make a fish pie and also watch last night's casualty and finish my book, but I'm half waiting for my mum and friend to phone back (we arranged to chat this aft) so I can't settle to start anything!

So it is the gas man that threw a spanner in my works - IKWYM - it gets me like that too - you feel all 'unsettled'...
Just nipped DS to GFs (well to a footpath that saves me about a mile as he can walk the shortcut) so popped to papershop. No paper. So at least I won't have that tempting me not to get on and do what I still need to do! There should have been one ...someone's got a freebie! Not on me though!
