Next day thats pretty incrediable, never known it done that quickly! The day after you accepted their offer?
Might start a thread asking how long...... getting anxious as last time buyer dragged their feet and then pulled out.
Actually no, I tell a lie, it was a week. They made the offer on the Wednesday, and I think the survey was done the Thursday after.
I'd still be tempted to give them a call to put your mind at rest.0 -
I did call yesterday, but they were pretty laid back about it all, saing they would chase if not heard anything sometime next week.
I asked for them to see evidence of the AIP last week before the offer was agreed and to ask what kind of survey they would be having and they have done neither of these things, drives me
They said they would fully qualify any offers, but havent in my book. They just seem to take the buyers word for it. They just fobb you off when I asked if they had done either of these things, they seem embarresed and reluctant to ask for proof. I dont want to push too hard, as obviously I dont want to lose this buyer.
Your so luckey this is all behind you now. Do you know who they were getting a mortgage with?Pawpurrs x0 -

I think our buyers got their mortgage with Halifax.
I know I'm lucky its over for us - I can't tell you the sense of wellbeing I feel now, I'm never EVER selling a house again!:o
Chin up, you'll hear something soon.0 -
Excellent news devilot! There was no need to worry after all, just a lot of hassle, but you can see an end to it now. Well done.0

This morning we accepted an offer on our house. It seems a bit quick to be true as it has been on the market for about 10 days. It was what we were hoping for so we're very pleased, but fingers crossed it all goes okay. We have seen two houses we like but they are so different. One is a detached house, quite dated but also very liveable, 399,950. The other, which is in the same area, different road, is on for 375 and is a semi, in better decorative order, with different pros and cons. Hoping to do second viewings on both next week, with parents in tow!
At what point in the process are you meant to sort out your mortgage? What happens - does the sale of your house pay off your existing mortgage? We owe just under £150k on ours, not sure of the exact figure as we made an overpayment recently. It's all quite sudden and I don't know what to do next! We do know who we will use as solicitors - a good local firm who are not cheap but i think you get what you pay for.
Good luck to those with viewings this weekend.0 -
Congratulations Becks, that was quick, hope it all goes smoothly for you, how long have you been in your current home?Pawpurrs x0

Thanks Pawpurrs, we've been here 3 years, but hope to be in the next house for a lot longer!0

I've heard this time and time again over the years. BUT this mood does wear off and sometimes very soon. Knowing what I know and the stress I have come across with others sales I also dread the time when I need to sell.A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. In latter part of career specialising in commercial - mostly business sales.0 -
Yes, and its worse when you have been an agent and know all the ins and outs, and what can and does go wrong, ignorance is bliss.......Pawpurrs x0

Nope, definitely not selling unless we have one of the dreaded 'D's (divorce, death etc!). we bought a home for life this time, the one we just sold was our first house, we were in it over 10 years and only had to move because we couldn't fit the kids in anymore. I'm not having anymore rugrats so unless I accidentally get pregnant with triplets, I'm staying put - even then we'll build an extension first!:rotfl:0
