Hi Pawpurrs,
Just started reading this thread this morning and sorry it's all fallen through. It's so disheartening and frustrating.
We've been on sale for 8 weeks and had 1 viewing 2 weeks ago and they put an offer in at £35k below the asking price. We have already put the house up for what we paid over 2 years ago.
So holding fire as we don't need to move but want to move.0 -
Devastated but what can you do?Pawpurrs x0
-
Hang in there, did they have a good reason to pull out (like didn't get the mortgage)?0

Feel so low. Hopefully some one else will want it.Pawpurrs x0

People's stories here give a personal face to the 'housing crash'/'credit crunch' headlines and show what they really mean, both in practical terms and in sheer emotional strain.

Hi all :hello:
sorry pawpurrs for your bad news...
Ironically I was convinced our buyers were going to gazunder at the last minute but they came through and we completed last week :j BUT now I am still heavily pregnant and miserable - currently living out of bags in parents spare bedroom  with stuff in storage - which I visited today to discover a german cockroach crawling around in the unit  ! at this point I feel like getting rid of everything (how do I know when we do move it that we wont be transporting the !!!!!!s with us!! )
The house we alledgely had an offer accepted on is still being marketed despite being told it wouldnt be as we have committed £500 for survey  - we offered less than they wanted but am worried they would drop us at a drop of a hat for a couple of ££££ more.... and also dont feel they are commited to moving quickly!have investigated renting briefly - nothing suitable is available(we have a little dog) and everything seems to be complicated
what a nightmare
:j Where there is a will there is a way - there is a way and I will find it :j0 -
Hi Do It Today. My experience of the previous house price recession is that it was almost impossible to line up a purchase and a sale at the same time. We managed to sell with a flexible completion date, so that we had a few months to look around for a new place. In your place, I would either make myself comfy at parents or rent somewhere. The last thing you want, having sold, is to get stampeded into buying something that's over-priced or not right for you. Besides, prices still seem to be dropping like a stone, so time is on your side.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

GDB2222 is so right, don't rush into anything as everyone keeps sayingit's a buyers market but it has to be right for you.
We may be buyers but most of us are not looking for an investment just a home.
I'm a great believer in what will be will be and the right buyer/house will come along eventually, if you are patient (which is just as well in the current market)!0 -

Thanks GDB2222 we have a really good mortgage which we are hoping to port but only 6 months to do it in!
not enough space to get comfy at parents literally or mentally! so renting seems sensible but the places I have viewed are either:
unsuitable
unavailble to pet owners
unavailable for at least a month because of marital splits or people waiting to move into somewhere else
I thought this renting lark was supposed to be easy - but its like buying a house and getting ripped off in the process :j Where there is a will there is a way - there is a way and I will find it :j0 -
Doittiday is the house you want still accepting viewings or just on the internet?
Are you still going ahead with the survey?Pawpurrs x0
