Afternoon everybody!! :hello:
Don't take this the wrong way but I am glad it is not just me who is lacking motivation. I sit here looking at the mess knowing what needs done but just not getting the 'oomph' to get off my butt and get it done! DD1 is still off school this week (they get two weeks holiday!) so we have been out and about a lot. DD2 is being an absolute devil at the moment as well so that is not helping.
Anyway, went to another shopping centre today to look at the Christmas decorations for sale - they were just lovely and the smell - mmmm!
Right - tomorrow!! I will be motivated!! DD1 is 7 on Saturday so I doubt anything will get done over the weekend. It's two of her pals birthdays tomorrow and she has one of their parties to go to on Saturday - she has a better social life than me.
So if anyone sees me lurking here tomorrow, please feel free to tell me to go and get on with the housework!!
Take care
Gill

I know exactley how you feel Gill, I seem to have a couple of good days and cross loads off then I loose all my motivation and do nothing. But This thread keeps me going, as I know I'm not on my own
too.
I love popping on and reading what others are doing and getting that christmassy feeling...... It just make me feel so ooooooooooo!!! Christmassy!
Well today I really must get myself going, I've only got 10 days before I go away and still haven't finished all my HM Gifts which was my plan to have them done before I go (and I don't think that will be happening)
Got to wait to have the carpet fitted in the frontroom this morning and then sort out all the mess thats lying around the house that we have just dumped while we have been painting in the frontroom, I've got bags and boxes of presents that need wrapping in my bedroom (Which need to be done before eldest son gets in and sneaks a look (Caught him doing it yesterday :rotfl: , but he only found one of his little brothers pressies!!)
I need to have a walk down to the charity shop with a couple of bags and the old Computer desk.
Oh so much to do and so little time in the day....does anyone else feel like they need more hours in the day (preferabley(?) when OH and Kiddies are in bed :rotfl: )
Hope everyone has a lovely day
Sarah

PS Well done everyone for what you've achived so far.:T:D:D:D:D
Where's the Coffee?? Show me the Coffee NOW!!0 -
I didnt get anything done last night. The only thing I managed was to clean out my Bunny's cage but I do that every day. No washing, no ironing nothing. I'll try to do a bit tonight but its very doubtful. I need a giant kick up the bum with a giant boot.
How's everybody else getting on?0 -
Hi all, haven't been on much this week but have been busy:A .
- I've done my bedroom,
- the boys bedroom (9 hours it took!),
- I've cleaned out some cupboards in the bathroom.
- I've shredded 1/2 of my 10 years worth of old documents
I am off one more week, our kids get 2 weeks holiday in Scotland and I am term time, so hopefully this time next week, I would give Anthea Turner a run for her money (not quite but hey we can dream eh!):rotfl:
My mam came through with a shredder for me yesterday, I am thinking I could shred some gold paper I got cheap at the start of the year, for some my hampers - what do you think, would it look okay, or tacky
I gave my sister a "shotty" of my It's a Wonderful Life DVD last night, going to watch it when it returns - not long now - yippee! x0 -
morning
ROXIEW - congratulations and all that, you are really going to enjoy xmas this year, getting ready for the littlun. get sorted but relax lots too and enjoy.
GEMMA86- yesterday went totally to pot but got up determined today, As soon as my kids were out the door for the school bus the cds were out. Already been 'slade', 'pogued' and at the moment elvis is on with merry christmas baby.!!!
SARAH- I think i could do with 50 hour days sometimes. Kids go out the door at 8am and the next thing i know they are back and its 6pm and starving, and not much done AGAIN.
Got up at 5am today couldnt sleep, getting my regular jobs done first then out comes the list. Washing done needs pegging out, downstairs already hoovered and generally tidy, beds made. so shortly be ready to get cracking with stuff and make progress at long last.
coffee on and music going up full blast in a few minutes....dog looking at me as though ive gone crackers...she keeps lifting her eyebrows at me...sealed pot member no :0812011- £306.68 2012-£304.36 2013- £387.44 2014 - £441.43

Well it seems as though we are lacking motivation. Not for want of trying, Not because we don't love christmas enough (Hell yeah!! get them sleigh bells out!) but because we have so much put on us (and kind of taken upon ourselves) and it can be hard work and overwhelming.
The grand plan seems very do-able. It looks easy enough printed out into lists but winter is a very sleepy time and the cold makes things so hard for me, i don't know about you guys? I had a broken pelvis in pregnancy and the cold just makes all around the base of my spine ache and that makes me want to watch tv and order takeaways
I am going to try and be more motivational from now on so that if I don't do anything, I can at least encourage others
Nice to read I am not alone x:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
Haven't seen anyone mention it yet, the pocket planner pages (I found them on organised home, but I guess thy're on the christmas site as they're linked!)

Just to let you all know:
:santa2:9 weeks 6 days to go! :xmastree:Well this week has been mainly uneventful in the Christmas department but today we are in single figures and I really need to get a move on!
Hardest struggle.. Not putting any christmas music or films on until December 1st! I want them to feel really special this year.. last year I was sick of them by december lol.
If you're feeling swamped, now is a good time to go over your lists and get everything in order. If you can't print off the lists (or can't be bothered) Get a notebook. It is just invaluable during the Christmas season to clear your mind when you sleep at night.
Sleep is so important so make sure you don't get into any late night early morning routines to get things finished.
Have you completed your gift lists and made sure you have checked the top selling toys list this year? I know it isn't important but it wouldn't be Christmas if my children didn't get what was the star item on their list. Having them all wrapped at my moms makes me feel a little calmer inside without the last minute rush of finding sold out items.
Woolworths currentely have all toys 3 for 2 and there is a ten percent off code. Get in fast!
The boots catalogue is out and there are some excellent items 3 for 2 and 1000 (10 pounds) free points when you spend 50 at a special boots night.
Challenge for this week
Write a list of ten things you would like to (and realistically could) complete by friday next week. Copy that list into this thread so that we can all see what you have commited to complete. Pressure!
Now set yourself a reward. A christmas reward. Perhaps a night in making cards with a christmas movie, Maybe a hot chocolate with whipped cream at Starbucks.
Next friday we WILL all achieve our rewards and we will feel amazing for having done the things on our lists. We can all come here and share the stories of what our reward was and how great it felt:T
So there is some food for thought.. now for them lists!:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0
