have sat down to write a list of presents i still need to buy, Have done well on the rest of the family but as us usual i struggle every year buying for my two daughters, Emily is 16 and Tori nearly 15..they are both severely disabled, non verbal, epilepsy, one fed by gastrostomy tube, use wheelchairs out side, and neither can read, write or talk....so what do i buy them????
they arent really bothered by toys, Tori likes 'sticker books' and Em well nothing really makes her excited, so it s so hard to find 'that' special gift for them that can show them just how special to us they are....
but at least they will have all the trifle and maltesers that can scoff...:heartsmil :heartsmil :heartsmil

Hi Mandy. My uncle too is severly mentally and physically diabled. He loves those cars that you push backwards on the floor and then likes to feel the wheels moving. Dunno if your girls may like something like that? x:xmastree: :snow_laug Christmas Nutter :snow_laug:xmastree:0 -
hi mandymull-sorry i know nothing about the sorts of disabilities you have to deal with everyday. What about something that lights up or makes noises or silly things that may appeal to their senses ( feather boas etc ). touchy, feely type of things. or even new fleecy blankets/pillows, fancy hot water bottles with the little jumpers on. some sort of pampering stuff that you know may give them pleasure. ignore me if im making ridiculous suggestions but please dont take offence at my lack of knowledge. And like you said theres always chocolate ! How much do they understand? what about a talking book for their ability range or nice outfits for wearing over christmas. Hope you find something.sealed pot member no :081

Hi finding my feet,
the post office christmas savings card is a like a top up card, i top it up throughout the year at the po and on the 31st oct it is activated and i can exchange the money on it for vouchers or use the card like a debit card in lots of shops like argos, woolies, sainsburys ect...
i think its a good idea as you can only spend the money on it from 31st oct to 30th jan and any money left on rolls over to the next year

brideonabudget- i think your son is great saving his money. i have always tried to get mine to save for everything, my daughter does but my son...????? At christmas i usually make mince pies and sausage/cheese rolls and freeze loads. you can freeze them cooked or ready to bake. then if i get visitors or on xmas day i just pop them in the oven for a while and they smell and taste great warm.
can you tell me please what is a post office xmas saving card- never heard of that?0 -

Mandymull - I'm getting one of these for my daughter for christmas. Not too expensive really compared to some things like this.
just seen the above item for 16.99 in argos - phew glad I hadn't already got it and a good saving.0 -
