Depends on the kind of company. Lots of (small) companies don't have pay departments
OP hasn't said what kind of company she works for0 -

A quick look at that posters post history answers that one;)tinkerbell84 wrote: »the change of tax code, which they will be informed of, is quite a good indicator though
Really? the last i heard the document issued by the tax people containing the reasons for a nil tax code was some 25 pages long so not a good indicator at all:rolleyes:Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….0 -
Sorry to sound like an idiot, but why does your tax code change and what is this for?0
-
When you go BR the HMRC instruct your pay department to issue a nil tax code. The tax will then appear in your wages, you keep it to one side and will be given instructions who to ay it to.
This will happen till the 5 th April 2009 or if you change job it will be cancelled.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -

Unwarranted referral.
I expressed my opinion in a balanced way, unlike other posters, mentioning the fact that I had no idea as to why the OP had not paid her debt. She may be entirely without fault......
I suggested that she discuss the matter in an honest and open way with her employer. Whats wrong with that?
My problem is that she has obviously not been transparent with her creditor(others perhaps) in moving and not informing them. She could have discussed the matter with them and perhaps come to an arrangement. Instead she did a runner.
Then of course there are those that actively encourage people to go bankrupt ASAP. God forbid she might have to pay somebody back!! Outrageous.0 -

Ok so which DCA or financial institution do you work for?
And did you stop to think that some people do a runner because they are UNLAWFULLY herrassed by such companys?
Have you ever been in financial difficulties and been subject to 20, 30 ,40 or even 50 phone calls a day, yet no matter what proof is supplied that you cant pay they continue anyway?
No i doubt it because your perfect i suppose, but it only takes one life changing event, usually beyond your control to change that.Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….0 -

Your employer shouldnt find out unless you work in a financial institution that requires you to declare anything like BC to them. The nil Tax code could be for a number of reasons and the wages department shouldnt be discussing your afairs anyway if they do there breaking the DPA."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. Has the OP received any phone calls?
Has the OP had a 'life changing event'? Other than the fact that NR have caught up with her of course.0
