Yes, the court will contact them to confirm how much you earn and set up payment of the AOE, there's no way around that unless you apply for a suspension, which may or may not be granted, and go BR pronto i.e within the next 1-2 weeks. Evenso once the AOE ball is rolling theres a chance your employer will still receive notice if the court has already started proceedings that can't be stopped in time.
If you go BR before the AOE is enforced your employer will not find out, there's no reason for an employer to be told you are BR unless you work in as FSA regulated job.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
hi worried woman my Husband had an atachment of earning order agaisnt him few years agos it is stopped now that he is BR . His or Contacted the court . however the court had to contact his employer to let them know he was BR and to stop any payment for the AEO and to refudn this last payment ( it was taken shortly after he was declared BR)BSC number 1830

Neillgb - do you work for Northern Rock?
I have NOT sought to avoid my financial obligations
We got into terrible financial difficulty and were bombarded with letters and phone calls from our creditors which was making me ill with worry. I couldn't face opening another letter or talking to these people who do not offer any help or sympathy. They just bully us and want their money NOW. They tell us to move house, spend less on food and ridiculous things that no-one understands unless they are in this position themselves. I can't believe you think we have got into this state on purpose.0 -
don't pay too much attention to the unwarranted comment of neillgb , obviosuly this is from a person which does not understand sometimes that people are in genuine difficulties and are actively seeking help to deal with your debt. which is why you are contemplating BR u are not evading any debt, u are just seeking protection from your creditor.
obviosuly NEil has no idea that BR is a difficult decision to take and certainly not a lightly one.BSC number 1830 -
Thanks for all your help everyone (except neillgb). I will fill the form in today and ask for a suspended order and try and fill in my soa today too, although it looks soooo daunting. At the moment I feel like jumping in front of a bus to make this all go away but everyone seems to have survived their brs and everyone is so positive. Thank you sooo much again - off to get a box of tissues now....0

I would have thought your employer will find out about your bankruptcy as well should you go down that route especially when they find out about the AOE.
I don't know your personal circumstances and why you have not paid your debt but the bottom line is that you have not met your financial obligations and, it would seem , sought to avoid so doing.
Perhaps your best route, other than paying up, would be to have a word with your employer and explain your circumstances prior to the you know what hitting the fan.
You may feel my post is a little hard nosed but there are 2 sides to every story. In view of your actions my sympathy lies with the NR. You seem to be more concerned with what people will think of you than honouring the financial agreement you have with your creditor.

the change of tax code, which they will be informed of, is quite a good indicator though0 -
People have tax code changes for a lot of reasons, not just bankruptcy. The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0

Not many get an NT tax code though0

If you've paid too much tax the year before you do.
Also, the only person to know would be those that work in pay dept, and they know that its more than there jobs worth to go around blabbin about other staffs tax codes. The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye.
