YOU ARE RIGHT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
(did you know that The Old Severn Bridge is FRENCH OWNED ?) This just makes it worse doesn't it !
So in Chepstow we must now get used to the fact that we have to pay 4-5 p a litre more for our petrol (DON'T FORGET...EVERY LITTLE HELPS)...OR.... we can drive to Newport to buy it cheaper a round trip of nearly 40 miles....OR.....we can cross the good old Severn Bridge to get really cheaper petrol and pay £5.30 for the privilege of using a bridge.
I have developed a new slogan..................
Live in Chepstow and get screwed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

scrooze247 the same happens across the country. You either buy the petrol or you don't. It's up to you to determine whether it's worth the effort of driving somewhere else or if the 5p a litre offer is worth it or not. Hell, you could even move house if the price of petrol *really* bothers you that much.
Probably already mentioned, but use the site www.petrolprices.com to look for the cheapest petrol near you.0 -
There is nothing wrong with making a profit....no profit no business...but my simple point in starting this thread was that as times get harder and consumers tighten their belts SO SHOULD TESCO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CHARGING 4-5P PER LITRE MORE IN CHEPSTOW FOR PETROL just because there is no competition is PROFITEERING ! EVERY LITTLE HELPS TESCO A LOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!What next? The corner shop for making a profit on milk and bread?
:mad:0 -
Yup done that which is where I picked up the constant price differential in the first place...it's all a huge conspiracy as far as I am concerned.....thanks for the moving suggestion...no - - I would'nt move I really like living in Chepstow...I just wish that they wouldscrooze247 the same happens across the country. Looks to me like the motives of OP weren't to complain about tescos petrol pricing but to start a general tesco bashing? The posting style of OP has changed to one of a general I hate tesco and think they should be brought down.

Newport has the added bonus of being fairly cr^ppy. People have less income --> lower price.
OMG, bread is 5p more in tesco express than normal tesco 1 mile away... :eek:0 -
Tesco is not the cheapest for petrol in my area by a long way. I can usualyl buy at Shell for 3-4p per litre less. Waitrose in Cheltenham has been the cheapest for a long time though, so if I'm near I'll call in there. Bristol and South Wales are 4-5p cheaper than Stroud most of the time though.Happy chappy0

Not fair? Tesco don't have to serve you, or set their prices at whatever you feel fair. Nobody forces you to buy from them.
In fact, if Tesco wanted to, they could tell you to foxtrot oscar every time you stepped into their store. Its entirely up to them.
Not fair? Not fair is when someone holds a gun to your head and forces you to shop at Tesco.
If Tesco want to charge 5p more, then they can. If you don't like it, tough !!!!. Use your legs instead.0 -
At the moment oil price is at $102.13 per barrel. The cheapest petrol near me is £109.9 which is the same price they were charging 4 weeks ago when oil was around $115 per barrel.
The last time oil was around this price (March) I was paying £103.9 per litre for the cheapest petrol round here. The price for a litre of petrol has risen to 105.7p, compared with 88.32p a year ago, after the benchmark for Brent crude oil hit a record high of £51.09 ($102.61).

We're being shafted by these greedy petrol companies.:mad:0 -

yes but $102 is now £56.95, not the £51.09 as it was last march, the petrol price isn't as low this time because the pound is weaker against the $ than it was.0
