I saw something about it on BBC ceefax (or whatever it's called these days) but I'm not sure if it's for people who don't have a meter or for everyone. We're on a meter and we are very careful with our water, but the bill is still a big one. I know a lot of people who don't have a meter don't realise how much they're using so this would be a good incentive for them to get one fitted. I'm a little confused by this but then it doesn't take much to confuse me :p:rotfl:

I am based off the Lewes Road,
Hi myzerz - me too! I am near the Co-op area off Lewes road,

I used to live above a shop on Lewes Road. Pennywise always used to be good for sauces etc...

A quick tip i've found (best if you are near a station and have a YP railcard) is that rather than paying £3.60 for a bus ticket you can get it much much cheaper using plusbus on Southern Railways website..

a standard single from Brighton to Hove is £1.15 at the mo £1.45 after the end of the month. If you then add plusbus it comes to £2.45 (done via southernrailway.com)

Thanks catflea - I've now moved to the heady heights of suburbia - Porta Del Slade!
Love it out here though, so much more space - and birds that aren't seagulls ;o)

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

:rotfl:I know - there are though far less buses, less likelihood of stumbling home drunk, less temptation with local shops... so we've saved quite a bit I'd say! :p

Well, I'm actually living in Southampton at the moment, but work for Amex in Kemptown.

Planning on ending up in Portslade soon (cheaper!):D

    Wow that's quite the commute!

Exactly why we did it too, live in Brighton and have 2 bed flat with no garden (if lucky), or a house in Portslade with 3 bedrooms and a garden, no contest... I was hesitant but my brother lives near and also friends etc had recommended it.
