Down the side of St Annes Well park has some 11 hour parking (as well as some 4 hour so watch out ;) - but that's a bit further up into 7 dials than where you say :o That's about all I know of - tend to catch the bus into town or else use churchill square car park.

Has anyone seen anywhere selling Damsons in Brighton, Hove, Portslade area?

Got some in Lewes the other day when I was out there, but really want some more ;)

I'm fairly sure I saw some in our green grocers in Steorge's Rd Kemptown yesterday. I'll try and double check
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Thanks I will remember that one ;)

Managed to get some down the Market - the greengrocer's shop at the London Road entrance.

Seems just George Street and Boundary Road that doesn't sell them  The guy in George Street told me that you don't see damsons these days - uh huh.

  • Have to admit I don't even know what a damson looks or tastes like - would like to try though - is it like a prune?

It's of the plum family. It's more the colour of blueberries and small compared to plums. You can't eat them raw as they are too bitter but they make a lovely pie (with sugar added in) - just a shame you can't stone them first (as they are small and the flesh doesn't come away easily like big plums) so have to spit the pips out.

They taste nicer than plums - in my opnion - though OH tasted damson jam and said it tastes the same as victorias. :o

What £Pound type shops are there around town ?

    I know of ones on:

    -London Road (2 shops)
    -Western Road/North Street (Poundland/99p store)
    -Portslade, Boundary Road (4 shops)

I was looking for something in my usual ones, couldn't find it, went to Portslade saw there were 4 shops there, 3 new ones never seen before, found it there.

What other ones are there for the future ?
