Hi EL, battening down the hatches I think:D .
Taj have an offer on tins of chickpeas - 3 for £1 which makes them cheaper than asda at the mo.
Otherwise, going out as little as poss at the mo.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Rumour has it Aldi in London Road is opening around 19 February. I know there's another store opening up on that day so perhaps all the other new ones will be. (don't hold your breath

Anyone know where the open market is?
It has 2 entrances - one on the London road, nearly opposite the now closed woolworths(just North of St Peter's Church on the level, and one the otherside opposite the northern end of the level at the start of Ditchling Road.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Anyone know a shop that does cheap Baked Beans ? :rotfl:
I've been shocked by the price rises in Somerfield & Lidl in last year or 6 months.
Somerfield used to do for 15p, now gone up to 30p per tin.
Lidl used to do for 12p, but had a big increase in prices, can't remember what.
I used to stock up on these at Lidl.
Anyone doing cheap Baked Beans nowadays ?0 -
Not sure if you're heading Bognor way anytime soon but Trading Post in Barnham had Heinz 4 pack for £1 the other day (short dated but tins). Bought a 'few' but loads left and we've had some since and they're fine.

I usually get my eggs from the egg and bacon stall (apparently Steve Ovett's Dad own it or something). They are often open at 8am on weekdays (whereas the other egg stall isn't). The bacon and egg stall eggs seem to have a longer BBE date on them

Hi guys, glad you're all back! This thread is the place to be to save cash and avoid going out he he...
Glad to hear about the ALDI PurpleVamp.... finally it may be happening! At least it looks like the work is moving along far quicker. I think with the credit crunch they realise that the mroe stores they have the more they will make as people are choosing these discount stores over the main stores.
Maybe they will have cheap bakes beans!
Got my 12 x eggs from the Egg&Bacon stall Saturday, not entirely sure they are free range though? I was in a rush so only thought about it once I had left, will have to check again in a couple of weeks unless anyone knows here...
Preparing my next blog entry today to post later or tomorrow, definately will be money saving related but also involves a little (fun) work.MFW #185

They do some free range, others not
The ones in the huge trays are not free range. The ones in the half dozen boxes (95p) nearest the bacon counter are free range
But it does usually have it printed on the box.
