"There should be a push so we can get it back in use as soon as possible to help revive London Road to its former vibrancy."
    :rotfl:

Sorry but I remember once upon a time when there was a small M&S, WHSmiths, Sainsburys, and loads more down London Road - then there was a sense of "vibrancy". If woolies goes, with Co-op aleady a distant memory it only really leaves the Open market and charity shops worth going down there for unless you need something in maplins

:j Roll on next year! I've never been to Aldi so I'm looking forward to seeing what they have and how much cheaper it will be.

Received my 2 cheap bus tickets today :T .

Anyway on to some sad news (imo) my sister rang me today and said that Woolies (Western Road one) will only be open until all their stock has gone and they're not going to get any more in. She thinks this may be as soon as next week

Eager learner they have lots of nice little xmas trees at the spiral charity shop in bedford place = and the money goes to charity.
  • Any of you who use the Portland Road veg man, he closes every winter for 3 months, so will be closed from next Saturday 13th December.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

BB - what will I do without the veggie man!!! Oh no, all my money saving on veg gone... will have to buy stuff this week as best I can...

Re Woollies that's so sad, I went in on Saturday and it was heaving, due to the sale they have on all stock. I did notice though some stuff has been on offer for a few weeks, they have removed those stickers and put the items back to full price, then taken 10 or 20% off the full price. Glad I got my magnetic spice tins last week when they were £3 each!

I did manage to get a tree thanks Winalot - it was £4.89 from Argos and only 3ft, as we won't be here for Xmas so it;s symbolic really, and moneysaving! Here's to buying our first place next year and then having a nice tree.

Any suggestions folks on the best areas in Brighton/Hove to consider buying in? We're off London road at the mo and I am sure this won't be a good investment area...
