Carlisle central has a lot of £9 availability - it's at the end of the Settle-Carlisle amazingly scenic railway line, that goes over the Ribblehead Viaduct. The travelodge is near the station. Carlisle looks like it's got great Christmas lights, a castle, shops and restaurants. Hadrian's Wall nearby, with walks.

I've never been before, so maybe I'm deluded!! Anyway, I've booked :)

There is the Gretna Outlet village not too far away too. I've passed it lots but never actually been. Got a couple of nights booked in the lakes so will be able to nip in and have a look on way home.

Does seem like the £29.00 is the only price, when you went in at the start did you use the £19.00 button to search, (book 21 days in advance link). x

I think we have to realise how good even £30 is, especially if it is a family, school holidays and/or a particular holiday you were already looking at.

Travelodge certainly do meet the needs of a special market.
