Is this the same Penny Pincher who deliberated for ages about whether to buy a RemoskaYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Well done for intervening Silvercharming, lets hope something is done.
Mummysaver - hope you are not feeling to sore. Sit and have a rest and take Redruby with you
I thought of you earlier wannabe sybil. I was in home bargains and they had a CD and book called Can't you Sleep Little Bear?
It has a sticker on for £7.99 but they are only 99p, sooooooo I got one to put by, I know DGD is too young for it yet but it was a bargain :rotfl:
I think there must be tidy crafters Celyn, well according to my OH, I hate doing it while he is here as he fusses round putting things away. I suppose this is because he lives in his cab all week and he has to put things away but theres nothing more annoying than him putting the glue bottle back under the sink when I am half way through something:mad:
Well I am a right numpty, remember me saying I got a call for an interview while I was away last week, in the middle of Tescos? turns out it wasn't tomorrow at 1o/c, should have been today ooooooops! I apologised and explained why I hadn't written it down, so they have offered me another one on Thursday at 1, I have written this downHow not to make a good impression

Been on a training session today to possibly become an extend teacher, was quite interesting but there's a lot involved.
Been ok for most of the day here but there's a few storms now.
House quite tidy today which is nice to come home to - DS2 must have been out most of the day!:D

Evening all
Have had a very OS day. Baked 2 batches of scones (sultana and cheese, with leftover bits of different cheeses). Also made what my friend calls crispy crunch (she's from Sheffield and her Gran used to make it), basically it's white rice crispy cake. Have frozen some of the scones and am resisting the urge to eat all the cheese ones.
Just had spaghettii bolognese for tea, with HG salad. Am so impressed with my cucumber and beetroot. Went to the library after my counselling appointment and manged to find some Dr Who DVD's for DS and I and some cookery books, as I am out of inspiration. Can't say I'm that impressed about Jamie Oliver, but the Delia one is excellent.
SILVERCHARMING I would have done the same thing too, well done to you.
MUMMYSAVER ouch!
Celyn90 it will all be over soon.
It's finally stopped raining here :j .
Have a good evening all.

Children are precious - I have two friends who have never been able to have children ('I've never had the pleasure or the pain' is how one describes it); they would both make wonderful parents yet have been cruelly denied the chance by nature, so it seems so cruel that some children are born to people who don't deserve them.
Pippa - I hope you get DH's ear problem sorted out. I know how mad my DH drives me when he needs his ears syringing and keeps saying 'what did you say?' and then accuses me of mumbling!
KathyXX
O Kathy,
I know exactly how your friends must feel, to be denied something that is so easy for some of the most unsuitable people to achieve. Our DS2 and DIL cannot have children, and are in the process of adopting, but the process is so long and involved. They have had to make a family book to be shown to the children they will eventually adopt, it contains all sorts of things including photo's of them both when they were children, as they were growing up, going to school, holidays, just about all aspects of their lives, and ours and their siblings. They have had training sessions, councelling(sp?) have been before a panel of social workers and various other people, had police checks done, (so have we and we have now been approved as baby-sitters/carers)
But there is light at the end of the tunnel, they have been told they should have children after Christmas.
If ever anyone was made to be parents its DS2 and DIL.
Regarding OH and his ear  the specialist said the only thing they can do is a skin graft over the perforation, but he gave OH some drops, I said what for, OH said ermmm. men:mad: he has to go back in 4 wks, so we shall see!!!

Evening all
Happy birthday wishes to those who's b-day is today...I hope you've had a great time!
*hugs to those who need them*
Well what a mix up i've had with hospitals, I've had 2 letters from 2 differents hospitals with dates for endoscopy's one is tomorrow and one is next week so we are taking the one tomorrow...a little nervous about it all I must confess but I just want to know why i'm in pain!!
Been checking over everything for little brother starting secondary school, I had no idea it had changed so much in the 4/5 years since it was since I left...I think we all forgot how much is needed uniform wise!
Luckily I still have a few bits he can use, such as calculators and such...me and mum spent the afternoon planning what cakes to make when I am feeling better, although my work aren't being that understanding about it all..keep asking when I will be in and it's not good enough that i'm off sick...It's not like I asked to be ill!!
Anyhoo..hope everyone has a lovely evening, shall pop back later
Jo

:bdaycake: :bdaycake: for the birthday boys, hope you both enjoyed your day
Silvercharming well done, a woman after my own heart :T :T :T and as for your other post well said.
Penny Pincher I think your carer is out of order, she is supposed to be caring for you, a young child however good is still a distraction for her, and she should make other arrangements really to be fair to you.
Yesterday I got the same freebies at Asda too, well 2 of them any way, they had run out of waffles, but when they ran the token through the till, my bill was still discounted by £3,
Lyndseyann crikey thats a big bill,
redruby hope you're taking it easy x
you too mummysaver oooo painful x
We had a thunder-storm earlier just when I went to pick Oh up from the hospital, he had started walking up and got soaked....shame.....:rotfl: :rotfl:
Well got to go we are off to see a couple of friends soon, have a nice evening everyone
