how awfull!! I am so glad that tesco are going to report this, as the worrying thing is if she is hitting them that hard in public, just imagine what she might be doing when no one is around!!! You did the right thing going over to her, even if she swore at you, she needs to know that she can't get away with this abuse!'If you judge people, you have no time to love them'

I have cooked some onion in the micro and chucked it in. Shall note for future reference but then surely I should learn from this mistake and remember the onion in future  hmm we'll see!!
Really its OH who would have noticed!! Although would have eaten it would have laughed at me for being so dopey!!
going to blame the painkillers I'm on for my back!!
re the post about the woman in the supermarket well done!! Sure I would have stood horrified but unsure what to do! Although it sounds quite serious. Poor kiddie not nice. We got smacks when we were little but I would never have called it a beating. (and I feel i always fully deserved it!) don't think it was ever in public though just always threats for when we got home which always seemed to work. But that's horrid isn't it? Well done for doing something!!
right off to taste my soup!! Thankseveryone!!

Hi everybody :hello:
I get later every day logging in here  havent read through yet ,
(((((((((hugs))))))))) to all who need them today and for anyone who just feels a bit down in the dumps x
Well the sun is shining again today can you believe, wont last it did'nt yesterday;) I have put the washing out, at least it will get a blow and come in smelling all lovely and fresh.
We have a busy week, well the first few days anyway, out all day yesterday did the shopping for us and MIL, home for lunch then out again up to the pound shop for all sorts off stuff for us,MIL and my mum, next stop the bank, and b.soc. Then we went to see a couple of friends, we havent seen for a few weeks, they have been down at their caravan in Paignton, we had a nice afternoon catching up.
We are at the Hospital at 2:30, OH has to have a hearing test , he has a perforated ear drum and has been asking the Doc for ages to send him for tests, but he never has so I said get it sorted OR ELSE.(I get so fed up talking to myself all the time):rotfl:
So off he went to the Docs, told him we would end up in the divorce courts if something was'nt done, and the Doc got on his computer and made him an appt straight away....now why could'nt he do that in the first place:mad:
Hospital with Mum tomorrow at 9:30 to have a check up for a cattaract, she had one done some time ago, and now the other needs doing.
Better get some lunch sorted, dont want to be late.
back later

Kathy, think you're probably right, I need some more sleep! On the bright side though everyone told me how wonderful their soup was and there have been no rows about walking the dog from the girls, ds is digging the garden for me as penance, he's still not going to the cinema though! dd2 has apologised and sorted out her stuff from the bag, and once again the sitting room is clear, well as clear as it ever gets, still have a dolls travel cot full of assorted babies in it and a sleeping cat, can't think how she's comfy with various plastic part sticking in her!
Sybil - glad little bear is having a nap and that the HV has confirmed it's "just a phase", seems like kids are always having one phase or another! Good luck with the cottage pie, I think that might be on our menu plan somewhere this week, as it's a real favourite of dd2's!
Joanne - if you think it needs an onion just do one in the microwave or a pan and add it in, if it tastes fine then don't worry! And welcome!
Scuzz - hope you feel better soon.
Silvercharming - well done you for rushing to help, what a terrible way for that mother to treat her child, well to treat anyone, but especially a child. We have had a few parents in like that and it is always reported to the police, we treat it as an assault no matter who is being hit, I work for Tesco by the way. I'm sure that you must feel really shaken by it though. Your story about Dave and his fishing gear made me smile though, and reminded me of some neighbours we once had, they had a huge row about 5.30am and woke us up with all the noise, anyway he stormed out of the house, she black bagged all his clothes and dumped them out the front and went out too, binmen arrived about half an hour later and took everything! We saw them later that evening, kissing as they went into the house, always wondered what happened when he found all his stuff was missing though!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

You deserve a huge pat on the back for rushing to help! :A
Sadly, you and the other customer are probably dwelling on it more than the mother did!!!! Unless she is reported!!!
Making DH a special lunch of salmon and green beans, then might just show him the video of the Remoska and drop the idea to him that I could make him Yorkshire pud really easily in it!!!! And rolls, scones, curry etc!!!!!

Hi guys, sorry to scribble and run - work is driving me nuts. I have 4 weeks to finish a 700 page document and I can't squeeze any more hours into the day
I'm so tired. Arrghh.. OH is away on thursday for 9 days, school reunion in Frankfurt then a conference in the US then a company visit in the US. *sigh* Sometimes I wish it would all just stop
Other than that one of the guys in the lab brough me a huge bag of pears he "liberated" from one of the college sport groundsIf anyone has any ideas how to preserve them, I would be really grateful. I thought about chutney
I have a shed load of apples and crab apples to process too - in my spare time with my other hand :rotfl: have a good day all, cel x

went to ASDA and got lucky with loads of things reduced to 10p. Salads, spuds, veg, bread etc... So stocked up on that. Made the grocery bill about £30 less this week.

Penpin (((hugs)))
Zoe I feel that way sometimes and to be honest when I do feel like that I do the bare minimum and think sod it!! (often though i say to myself I'll just do that before I sit down and that etc till i've probably done most of it anyway lol)
Lindsayann thats terrible!!!!!!!0 -
I get a lot of whoopsies at Tesco, I think that regular scouting is more important than the time you go, although I find weekends aren't so great as it's busier and they get snapped up quicker! I have tescos literally around the corner from me, so I take a mosey down there most days (I am lucky - I have the self-discipline not to get distracted by things I don't need!)
Celyn - HM cider (well, perry for the pears, I suppose) springs to mind, but I love making homebrew! Pear wine would probably be nice, although I made apple wine once and it tasted like flat cider, only lethally strong! And it took a lot longer to make than cider too! Preserved pears in syrup are easy to make too, or chutney. Let us know what you fancy and I'm sure we have a zillion recipes between us!
I have calmed down a little now, thanks everyone. As for rushing in to help, well, it was instinctive action, I didn't stop to think for even one second! I'm not sure what I would have actually done if I'd got hold of her...0 -
afternoon guys
I can remember if I have posted on here today but I will look shortly
Silver Charming ,,you jump in just like we do ..if we see anything like that happening as it is abuse.. the parent usually starts swearing and threatening us but there is always someone there to back you up ,,in your case the security guards... well done
I think you will find that most people just creep out of the way and dont want to get involved,, well done again
see you later

Silvercharming - well done for intervening. It sounds as if the Mum would have just carried on beating that poor child. I never had to live with that fear as a child because I had two loving parents; my DH's childhood was not so good (although he himself wouldn't hurt a fly). My Mum fostered right through our childhood, some of the most traumatised children came and lived in our house with truly dreadful histories. One little boy was made permanently deaf through constantly having his ears boxed. I've never forgotten that it was his Mum who did it. I dread to think how some children live even in this day and age. Children are precious - I have two friends who have never been able to have children ('I've never had the pleasure or the pain' is how one describes it); they would both make wonderful parents yet have been cruelly denied the chance by nature, so it seems so cruel that some children are born to people who don't deserve them.
Pippa - I hope you get DH's ear problem sorted out. I know how mad my DH drives me when he needs his ears syringing and keeps saying 'what did you say?' and then accuses me of mumbling!
