Silvercharming, I agree, well done on trying to intervene - so many people would just turn the other way. I'm glad Tesco were going to call the police - I hope Social Services are brought in to speak to her as well, that poor child
Scuzz, I know that feeling, there suddenly comes a point where you decide to take control rather than float along.... hope your thinking today is going well. As the cliche goes, life is not a rehearsal... I remember reading in a magazine a few years ago about a woman who did tiara-making courses (only a couple of days)combined with B&B down in Dorset or Devon (or somewhere like that, lol!) Think she'd gone on a day's course to learn how to make them herself, which gave her the bug. You could make a few items & see if places would sell them on your behalf? What about somewhere like Litlington Tea Gardens (there's a shop there too)??
The rain has finally stopped (for a few minutes) having poured non-stop all day. Don't think I'll be putting any washing out though.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Just gone to take the focaccia out of the remoska and tripped down the stairs, what a dope! Haven't broken anything but have hurt my stomach, must've twisted awkwardly, hurts to lift anything up including my arms! Will phone work and tell them I won't be in I think, won't be much use to anyone if I can't lift or move properly. It's really sore considering I can't see any bruises or anything.GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000

Swift post before rescuing little bear again.
Silvercharming - on behalf of the child I would like to say thank you. If that was what happened in public, what would happen in private? Whatever happens now, that child will remember that there are people out there who care and who don't think it is acceptable to hit a child like that.
Mummysaver - may I suggest an urgent GP appointment now. Tomorrow you will have stiffened up. The GP can just check over that all is as it should be, or perhaps even the practice nurse. I dislocated both shoulders once falling down stairs - and no-one dislocates both shoulders so the paramedics that came out and picked me up thought it was just muscular and I walked round with two dislocated shoulders just hanging down for three hours. I was so shocked that it didn't really dawn on me how much it hurt - until the following day when the challenge of pulling up underwear after visiting the ladies room became very apparent.
Hugs to all.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Ahhh...five minutes off!
One of my collegues (they guy that brought the pears) in has just produced a huge pear and chocolate crumble for tea
So nice to stop and catch up
Mummysaver -that sounds painful, hope you are okay
Silvercharming - Well done for intervening; if a child gets smacked like that in public - heaven knows what goes on behind closed doors.
Pen-pin - hope you are feeling better today; certainly don't feel you shouldn't post how you feel - you're not moaning at all; we'll all listen and send virtual hugsSorry that the family stuff is getting to you both too ((hug)) Good luck to your niece and friends son for their first day at school.
lyndseyann - that's awful! How would they expect you to pay that sort of money instantly?
Stef - I have a collegue that like too - they are awful. I got mine in secret santa a couple of years ago *sniggers*

Catznine - well dopne on your mortgage payments
Bethebee - hugs for you and your DB
Zoegirl - The confessions of an old styler thread is hilarious if you can find itI do as much as I can, which somedays is loads and other days is nothing.
Redruby - hope you are feeling better today
Dazi - :rotfl: I'm not a tidy crafter either! I don't think they exist. One thing I'm looking forward with OH being away is that I can spread sparkly things all over the lounge floor
Dorry - hugs for you
Scuzz - hope you feel better soon. I love jewellery making - I contacted a local college and found they did silverwork in the evenings, it was great fun.

Afternoon Guys!
Got back from the hospital ok and managed to go to Asda (OH just nipped in), Sainsburys & Makros for a few bits and tried out the new scooter. Its very hard to steer and quite heavy compared to my other one. We were only out about 2hrs in total but I'm cream crackered!
Managed to get the FREE fishfingers, peas and waffles x 2 lots from Asda and OH spent another £6 on fruit that had been reduced, some bread and a couple of other bits. Makros wasnt too bad and got 1.25kg of Gammon Ham which has been portioned and frozen for £7.99, 48 Charmin for £10, 180 Finish DW tablets for £13, Stanley Food Flask for £5, 10 pints of milk which has all been frozen for £1.90 and 3 Pukka Pies for 50p each which have been frozen:j :j :j :j Sainsburys we spent £12.00 on some bits and bobs and OH treated me to a shared Starbucks of Latte (free refil of coffee) and a Panini as he had a discount voucher for £4.
DD had a great day at school and has come in laughing and joking.
In the Remoska we have potatoes and carrots being roasted and am having some fish with it too.
I think I will do a Sausage Cassorole in the Slowcooker tomorrow and do some baked spuds in the Remoska. Visiting a friend in the morning and have another hospital visit early afternoon, so it will save any temptations of chips:D
Silvercharming-Good for you. It's not nice, but someone has to stick up for the children!
Anyway, I hope all is well.
Hugs

Mummysaver ouch, hope you are ok hun, take it easy and let the family wait on you for a change, hugs xx
Silver, well done for stepping in, I would have done too, I see red when I see people hurting anything, I once chased a group of hoodies off, they were throwing stones at a horse, I called the police too.
I am feeling a bit better, not done much at all today, dd and I have been desigining dresses for her prom, she is 13 , but its kept us quiet, have just chopped some spuds up for wedges par boiled them and shoved them in the oven with some burgers, and that was enough, so am sitting down again.
Feel a bit guilty about not going to work, but even doing any little thing leaves me tired, so will definatly take tomorrow off.
I am reading a book about that foster carer (Eunice Spry) who was jailed for 14 years for abusing the children in her care, its a shocking story, and to think it happened over the last 20 years, how can a b***h like that be allowed to foster and not be monitered
Anyhoo, just waiting for OH to get in, will need to get him to put the brown garden waste bin out, and the rubbish, I can't lift it at the moment
Have good evenings all xx0
