Cunning packaging plan saved £1.00 on postage so am happy... sent it in many layers of brown paper instead of bubble wrap so it stayed under 2.5 cm thick and counted as a large letter! Left about £1.50 profit which is good as decided my minimum to be worth listing is £1 - not worth walking to the post office otherwise as means I have to give up lunch break and also exposes to danger of spending in the shopping centre.Work & school should be cancelled & we should all just stay in & look at it.
Lula I think you're right, we should have a Bank Hol organised every year just to look at the snow. (Apparently the Japanese have a cherry blossom day which I think sounds fab, we should do that too.)

Alrighty
Good things have happened here today :
Number 1 - lovely guys on another thread have taught me how to use clever quotey button so that I can look all clever & technogeeky
Number 2- I've had a fair bit of work so no need to go on starvations rations yet
Number 3 - DD has been playing out in the street having snowball fights & building dens all day with other kiddies - not usually safe enough to do that as idiots in cars race along the road - which made me feel all nostalgic about my childhood - we ruled the roads & the cars stopped for us - not the other way round
Number 4 - It's been a NSD
Number 5 - PurpleTea is coming back soon :j
On the down side; I've been an absolute pig today & will have to deliver about 300 leaflets an hour to burn it all off
There could be a direct debit disaster later on this week so need to do some preventative maths later
Hope everyone ok

PS - Rosa - loving the idea of Cherry Blossom Day
& a good result on the selling - well done for avoiding shopping too

Hello, just a quicky update :
3rd NSD in a row
DD was very miffed that she couldnt go out at playtime because she didnt have her wellies... it was strongly suggested this morning & equally strongly refused. Guess what, tomorrow she wants to take her wellies in  .
Due to health & safety there was no recorder club after school & no Brownies either... which has led me to realise that in fact I do find it quite stressful having bessfriend for tea every wednesday. This is mainly because I have to pack away all my work stuff for the 2 hours they're here as although DD knows the rules & to avoid my stuff & lets me carry on working as she's grown up with me working from home...obviously I cant expect others to do the same.
I actually dread parents asking which day is best for tea after school because what I really want to say is "none, I'm a single parent working from home & the last thing I need is your child to entertain & cater for  ". That sounds really horrible& I'm happy to have kids round at the week end but am always told "No, sorry that's our family time" . Thankfully her fellow 'only child' friend is coming round on saturday so that's great
.
Getting fed up with the snowy slushy stuff now as I'm itching to get to work on the garden & allotment. I'm still simplifying & decluttering & the most recent victims to be expelled are the dodgiest 20 of my vinyl collection...promised myself I'd get rid of half but still have another 30 to go  .
The practical side of me does not see the point in replacing perfectly good vinyl albums on a different format, to say nothing of the pointless expense.
Direct Debiting Disaster looming ever closer so MUST pay in money tomorrow  .
G'nite

Awww Tea, it's so nice to see you 'lurking' again, we've missed you
.
I have succesfully deflected the direct debiting disaster by paying a measly £10 into the bank  Not sure how I miscalculated that but have decided that I should start paying a proportion of my wages in every week rather than stashing them into my various funds. Of course this does mean that i'll have to keep a strict tab so i dont get all excited about having 'apparently spare' cash.
I am so frustrated that I havent been able to start up the new 'delivery' project - although quite relieved that I wasnt expected to start in this weather. I keep looking out of the window to see if it's snowing although most here has melted. I'm dreading having to drive in the snow but will have no option tomorrow as we need quite a bit of stuff.
Last week's shop was so succesful I've not had to top up at all this week - & managed 4 NSDs in a row :j . I am getting cabin fever now though & was meant to be meeting my friends at the allotment this week end... but wont be going anywhere if the temperature is as forecast  .
I've done a huge survey recently so earned plenty of points for that & now have £186 in my Quidco account although only £2.50 has been received so trying to forget about it for now & hope it's all ready for the hol in August. I've also had an email to say my new glasses are on their way. That's amazing& I cant wait to see them as have decided it's time for a new image & will alternate wearing them with contacts - depending on how clever & studious I want to look
.
I'm not interested in meeting any men other than as friends as I've finally admitted that it's not being single that's making me so unhappy & disatisfied with my life right now...it's the debt. That's preventing me from doing all that I want to do with DD ie travel & explore new places. The houseboat & campervan are a looooong way ahead but I still need to keep them in my minds eye as targets to aim for
Off to do an anti-snow dance now :rotfl:

Ur get there, the dreams do come true, thou im still waiting for Mr Right, totally agree with where ur coming from its the debts that hold us all back, I know if I hadnt got the debts every chance I had i would be exploring places with dd, but for now it has to be cut back to a very local effort (with the exception of Tunisa this yr), ur get there.
Good luck with the delevery of the leaflets hope the weather improves xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I totally hear you about the snow... at first loved the prettiness of it all but now getting fed up of plans being cancelled.
I'm out on the weekend and think I'm gonna have to wear my boots to get out and then take my heels in a bag as I don't think I can manage heels and the snow / ice at once.
I hope my weekend plans go ahead as two nights this week i've had plans cancelled and whilst I do love being at home and doing housey things I am also in desperate need of some conversation!!!
Plus I can walk to work and I'm fed up of reading smug facebook statuses about 'snow days'!!!! I went in every flipping day this week!!! Aaargh!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Awww, thanks to both of you :A
Hope you get to wear some fabby clothes as well as heels makeup, dont know about you guys but i am soooooo fed up with warm sensible clothes & footwear  longing for flipflops or strappy anything
Going to bed now to dream of tropical paradises & yummy cocktails ...:D
night night xx0 -
It is soooo cold here that Im wrapped up in a fleecy blanket & typing with my nose - ok that's not true
but I am considerng it so can keep hands warm too.
Shouldnt moan - there's not been any snow just cold vicious sleety stuff so I did manage to do my shopping quite safely. I spent £36 on groceries & another £10 on household bits & toiletries but quite happy with that as I got loads of stuff & Ts are still doing the giant bottles of Robinsons squash for £2 & the bottles are great for camping & picnics as really strong & have a handle.
I got my new glasses today as well so very impressed with GlassesDirect - delivered within a week of ordering. They came with a free pink case, little mirror & giant eyeball sweetie which I shall pass on to DD. I've never been a fan of eyeballs & actually managed to fail my biology practical because I just couldnt bring myself to hack apart a cow's one  pointless barbarism I reckon  . I'm no longer a veggie but still cant be doing with choppin up & disecting things.
Anyway - have fab new glasses & hope they will prove a cunning weapon as a man deterrent; went for the most Velma-esque (scooby doo  ) ones I could find & sincerely hope that I dont have to take a further step towards orange knee socks & t bars :rotfl: .
Apart from that I've done bogger all other than bake more hobnobs & potter around on the 'net. My thinking is that this could well be my last friday off for months so best take it easy. Dining table seems to have sprouted more paper shoots again so should really deal with those...

Hmmm, not sure it will work as man deterrent. Isn't there that cheesy librarian thing, you know take off glasses and shake out hair from bun....why Miss Lula who knew??
Anyway Velma way cooler than Daphne.....
I'm soo happy it's the weekend. I had such an annoying day at work so glad have weekend off and won't have to deal with the pain til Monday!!!!I've got my own flat :j:j
