I'm the same as well.....I overcooked my roast chicken last night by nearly 45 minutes although it seemed fine...at least no risk of salmonella.

    Which is a good plan.

(Believe me, I'm just recovering from food poisoning thanks to the hotel I'm staying at for a training course  . Insisted on moving rooms and am still wondering why I'm not diva-ish enough to scream the place down and insist on free spa treatments. Probably something to do with the lack of sleep, fever and worrying about having missed half a day of the intensive training course that cost work over £2K. Grrrr.)

    So hurrah for overcooking!

 Rosa that's terrible, hope you're feeling better now though, would one of these :grouphug: help at all ? Just goes to show that really one is much safer sticking to Green & Blacks :D .

All quiet in Lulaville today, it's been a NSD :j although I wont reach my target but as I'm running the february tread I beleive this exonerates me ;) .

I ordered a pair of trial glasses yesterday ( yes of course through Quidco :D ) as although I usually wear contacts, my right eye has been rather uncomfortable recently & there are so many fab designs. Anyway, they arrived today which I was really impressed with although they were not the black ones I fancied ( they did explain that the trial ones may be another colour) but a rather fetching pink colour which of course I wouldnt have considered previously .... but now I'm beginning to like :o . The question is do I just order the black ones or spend another £30 & get the pink ones too which could be quite fun in summer  . I'm just thinking about the fab 14 % cashback of course  . No, you're absolutely right, I dont need pink ones until the summer, or at all actually :o .

DD1 came to visit today & along with the most enormous picnic lunch she brought a huge bag of clothes :D . Most is stuff that she want me to take to the charity shop for her  but there were 2 lovely blouses, a couple of tops & also the rather fab cardigan & jumper that I've been secretly eyeing up since she bought them :j . Trouble is although we were the same size a year ago... one of us has expanded somewhat :o . But having been reminded of her love of buying new clothes & then passing them on within weeks ;) I have determined to get serious about losing that stone by not eating anymore of Twinks hobnobs & actually doing some exercise. This will start on sunday as tomorrow I'm off to the pub with friends & also need to psyche myself up for this new regime. I'm not making excuses, it really is the weather that puts me off... I miss going to the gym :( I was really good as determined to get my moneys worth :o , I just cant seem to motivate myself at the moment. I want to be indoors being warm & cosy & eating nice things .

Right I'm off to do some yoga with Barbara now

My working week is over :j

I've earned less than I can ever remember this week :( but the 'nice repo man' called today to say he'll be dropping round the first batch of leaflets later... I was all excited until he said 9,000  I actually let out a petrified squeak & he laughed & said I only had to do 2000 a week ( gulp) & he'd keep the rest at his office.

According to my co-worker the boss is considering branching out into domestic cleaning so now i'm just waiting for her to suggest I do that too all for the same pay  . I wont though as the whole reason I do this job is because it's home based so she can go whistle  .

I popped out to fill my car up earlier & was pleasantly surprised that it was under £30 :j . I've eaten 2 of twinks hobnobs & 2 egg mayo sarnies today :o so desperately need to get started on this walking & posting for a living malarkey. I tried to order my new glasses then realised that I dont have a copy of my prescription , sneaky optician must have kept that to prevent me from buying elsewhere so I'll have to get that tomorrow along with contacts. I'm also going to take £10 of my clothes money & see if there's any bargains to be had anywhere.

    bye for now

Thanks Lula, am recovered now and back on solids other than dry toast. Dodgy hugs always help.

Have had apologetic-ish letter from the manager pointing out that as nobody else on the course has been ill and of course their staff prepare everything to standard, and no samples were taken or doctor's report presented... it's terribly difficult to pinpoint why I was ill. well I did consider ringing reception to get me a doctor at 2 am but given my symptoms the embarrassment factor seemed worse than just getting through it. And I was hardly going to put samples aside for them! Oh well I have passed the first exam anyhoo so finger crossed for tomorrow and then I'm outta here!

I agree sticking to chocolate is much safer. And of course also more less time consuming and more eco-friendly what with not consuming gas or electric to cook it :D

Good luck with the leafleting. Another reason to get your bike out?

Ooooooo to 2000 leaflets in a week. Thats a bit scary. The mathematician in me assumes that the area you're targetting only has short drives and the houses are close together so concluding that you walk an average 25 paces between houses x 2000 = 50,000 paces or roughly ten miles burning up 345 calories (cheated and used http://walking.about.com/library/cal/uccalc3.htm) thats the exact number of calories in a regular Yorkie bar. Perhaps you could bribe DD to help with half your Yorkie?

You mean if you walk 10 miles you've only burnt off a Yorkie bar?????

that's a bit rubbish! I'd have thought at least a family size dairy milk!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

If you walk faster you burn off a few more calories

    10 miles at 20 mins/mile = a regular Yorkie (345 calories)
    10 miles at 15 mins/mile = 369 calories
    10 miles at 12 min/ mile (I can't run that fast!) = 473 calories or 2 1/2 Cadburys cream eggs.

assuming you weigh 65kg (just over 10 stone). Ooh the less you weigh the fewer calories you burn. how carp is that. Yes you're super skinny and super fit so you've earn a whole penny chew. Don't eat it all at once. Alternatively ... cor you're a bit lardy love (500kg or half tonne Tessie at 79 stone) and you've run 10 x 12 minute miles earning 3636 calories or a day and a halfs extra food. Me thinks the site is a bit flawed.

Can you tell I'm bored yet? I'm still avoiding completing the annual return for the charities commission so thats my plan for the morning. Lucky me. On a more positive note it means I won't spend anything today making this a relatively cheap week although I'd assume the OH is more than making up for that. But since he can't get internet access at his hotel I'm spared the gorey details until his return.

    Evening all,

Rosa - glad you're recovering although  to managers attitude
    Mum2one - have sent you a pm & sorry so late :o
Moo2 - you always manage to make me giggle :A

Well, chappy delivered leaflets - 5000  & I'm now scared. He reckons that I can deliver between 200-250 an hour _pale_. that's actually good news for the finances as that should be a minimum of £65 a week before tax :D . The worrying bit is that I have to find about 10 hours a week to do this  ... that's probably the amount of time I spend pottering about here when waiting for usual work delivery :o . In light of this enforced 10 + hours a week exercise I have upped my calorie intake dramatically to compensate in advance :D .

I had a great eveing at the pub wih friends & we've organised a major assault on the allotment for next weekend - weather permitting. We've got 500 seeds for £3.50 from somewhere & one of my friends is (handily) a bookkeeper with great knowledge of tax & reckons I'll be able to claim for shoe leather & gloves as well as fuel costs. I'm a bit concerned as to how this new jobby will affect tax credits but definitely prefer to be employed while there's work available. #

The O/F did a great job of babysitting DD although he does reckon she's a bit bossy, cant imagine why  . He also brought me round a fab baguette board( rather than bread, based on the shape) he carved himself & 3 gorgeous logs which I intend to dry out & use as stools indoors - yes, I'm a bit weird like that & prefer things in their natural state rather than all squared off & polished.

I'm now calling on 'she-font of all knowledge' to advise me on how to dry, protect & preserve them ? They're currently sat in front of the radiator as they wont fit in the airing cupboard  .

I've been pretty damn fab at the finances today too; added to all the funds, went to town & only spent 50p on parking while collecting new lenses, topped up gas & elec ( I will have solar panels on my boat  ) & only spent £ 8.08 on a few shopping bits - buttery stuff on bogoff :j . DD spent the day at a friends as it was an inset today & they're taking her to do dog walking at the local greyhound rescue centre on sunday; slightly worrying as she's already been on their website & picked out the one she likes best  .

The o/f helped me with clearing out the shed & we took about 10 boxes that once housed electrical items that 'may' need to be returned if they break  to the dump along with the old tv cabinet the size of a small country, the blown up hoover & the dead printer. Thankfully our local council/dump is brilliant at recycling items so none of it will end up in landfill :D . I had to stop the o/f from presenting me with an incomplete set of dumped kitchen utensils/knives though :o. I love the dump; I once got given a brand new set of jump leads which although I've never had to use them, have proved invaluable to my neighbour with the camper van :T .

Feeling rather sleepy now & looking forward to my bed so...

    G'nite all

Do we take bets on how long it takes for a greyhound to be rehoused at a certain persons house!!
