Certainly have no problems with Scottish Power, as I do not use them. If they are the cheapest, use them ;D ;D ;D

As I said, I've found SP to be good.

Dual on-line package always in the top teir price wise for my consumption. Wouldn't and haven't had a problem recommending them.

However the recent publicity about price rises prompted me to check the market again. And gave me the incentive to get off my !!!!!! and start the switch to Powergen for a saving of ~£50 p/a.

well I switched to Scottish Power (the online manage your own account tariff) just over 12months ago and they've been great, they are certainly cheaper than my previous, I can enter as many readings online as I like to moniter consumption and they set the DD at a realistic level to pay for usage but not put me in credit. I have no complaints they're great!

    Hello SP_eContact.

    Welcome to the forum.

I just tried the secure part of the SP website to see if my incorrect opening reading has been amended yet and it is down yet again. Any ideas why it is so unreliable?
  • Hi Hanoijade

Yeah well our webservers are not feeling 100% at the moment. Something to do with winter flu jab ;) (only joking)

The webservers are bit a shaky sometimes, our online service has went from 100,000 to 300,000 customers in less than a year. The webservers havent really changed hence the slowdown sometimes, esp at 5pm when everyone comes in from work and reads their emails.

We are doing a major site upgrade and that is hoped to be online early next year with loads of new features to make the website quicker and easier to use!!!!

In the meantime best advice is to retry a few times( if your patient enough) or try again later. If you dont wanna wait best advice is to email the readings to contactus@scottishpower.co.uk and we will update your bill manually. You can then view it online next time you log in. Current email turnaround time is about 3days(due to very busy weekend)

    Hope this helps!

  • Hi

If you have any queries about ScottishPowers Online Energy service or if you are an online energy customer already the email address to use is contactus@scottishpower.co.uk

Alternatively you can call the eContact Centre on 0845 270 6543, this is dedicated callcentre for online customers and there is very rarely a que

If you have a sales or pricing query you are best calling the freephone sales number 0800 400 200, they can give you all ScottishPowers products and prices.

If you have a "standard" paper billing account the email address for enquires is customer.services@scottishpower.co.uk or the callcentre number is 0845 2700700 (ques greatly reduced since another brand new callcentre was openned due to our voice of the customer feedback about ques/service etc)

We are listening to our customer and we are commited to improving all aspects of our service with the "big goal" of becoming the No1 energy company in the UK.

I switched in May of this year. To cut a long story short I thought I was on a capped internet deal...Come find out they put me on the standard deal as I don't have gas.
Anyway one phone call (avoiding 0870) They switched me on to the online account and backdated my billing to May, so I should get a rebate.
STUPID thing is Why is the cheapest electricity in Cornwall come from Scotland? ???
NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!

I changed from SWEB to SP online in April following SWEB's price increase, Powergen at the time were practically the same price, but as from Manweb region I went with SP. SP online increased prices a couple of months ago, but Powergen online appear to have stayed put in this latest round of hikes. Now following Martin's email I find SWEB do an online tariff, not that their website displays it, and Powergen/SWEB are now som £50+ cheaper pa.

Wished I'd gone with Powergen, thought I'd try the SWEB site and rejoin, as they keep sending me letters to come back, and have all my details.

Only Q is are Powergen gonna increase their online rates, given they haven't yet.

Re the SP website, have had problems understaning/printing their bills when I enter my readings.

recently changed supplier from SWEB (property developer assigned) to SP on firstly elec then gas. in the hope that i would receive the promised 10 pound for changing, twice. no such luck in fact i havent received one yet. never mind.

    "never mind"? You should mind!

Assuming this was the Energy Helpline ofer and you used the special link from Martin's article, or used the special phone no. to get the 2x£10 payments, then a promise is a promise. Call them free on 0800 279 45 46 and chase it up. I needed to chase it but got mine without too much fuss.
