Buddiebabe's new beginnings....

Hi Buddiebabe, it's good to hear you sounding positive, and those bits of extra work should help with the debt repayments without undoing the positive effects of time off.
The assistant manager job sounds worth thinking about - if you could manage without your car that would make up for a small drop in wages. Would you enjoy the work? And would it mean you would have more time to yourself, with only one job and less travelling?Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Hey Seaxwyn i think coming off the tablets has really really helped. Its been a while since i've felt positive about anything!
I can manage without the car and was feeling really positive about the job... i know there are no major decisions to be made at the moment as i wont know if the job is available until the beginning of next year but it does make me want to try and get my debt down as much and as quickly as possible!! I did have a bit of a run in with a customer at work today who may complain but i did everything by the book and reported it to my manager and they agreed with the way i handled the situation but will just need to wait and see
I've tried to sort out some more money things tonight. I have paid the following:
£10.00 towards overdraft
£14.44 towards Skycard
£2.50 to mum
I have also put all the details into the snowball calculator and my debt free date is January 2014 .... well by then i'll be 36 ideally i would like all the debt to be gone within 5 years if possible so i would like my DFD to be September 2013 so i could be debt free before christmas 2013.
I have £40 put away for my Debenhams card once my statement comes in and i also have £210.00 put away to pay towards skycard.... once i can get to the bank of scotland to take it out!!!! Which may be 2moro or tuesday cause i think it will be shut 2moro due to a scottish bank holiday!
I've managed to put away the following savings:
Gas £136.72
House Insurance £139.02
House Repairs £207.93 (there are roof repairs needing done costing approx £4000.00) so need to save as much as possibly can for this)
Road Tax £40.04
Car Insurance £152.30
MOT & Servicing £8.56
Total cash savings £684.57
TV licence £145.00
I know i have enough money there that i could pay off part of my debt but my boyfriend gives me money every week to put away for the bills so i'd rather keep that money separate so i can pay things when they come in rather than worrying about where to find the money!
Am off for a bath now and then some dinner.... cant wait for my long lie in 2moro

Hey
Well managed to get to the bank today so have made a payment of £210.00 to my Skycard. I was reading the payment a day thread on the forum and it sounds like a great idea, however, as every penny is already accounted for i've decided that if i have any loose change i will put it in my piggy bank and at the end of each week (probably a sunday) i will give it to my mum to take off the money i owe her.... i've said to her and she doesn't mind getting it in 1p and 2p!!!
Gonna go try and do some more tidying... have only managed to clean out a few drawers but i suppose its a start

Just phoned up Debenhams to check my balance and the total after all charges and interest is only £802.10 and not £827.75 as i first thought :T every little helps. This is the only payment i still have to make for this month so i used my switch card to pay £42.10 (just over the minimum payment)
It means i don't need to worry about finding the money to pay any bills until next month as everything is paid for this month. It will also give me a head start saving for next months bills as i think things will be a bit tighter next month.
It also means that i had to use £4.10 out of the money i had paid to my overdraft. I will pay this back when i get paid on Friday.

Is always so nice when the balance on something is lower than you think - a little added pick me up.
Sounds like you are doing really well with everything.

Well its been a mixed few days. I spent the day yesterday with my boyfriend and it was an expensive day. I had to buy my sister a birthday present but as i had no idea what to get her i ended up spending £25 on a bag  its not that much but if i'd had thought about it a bit more i could have got her something nicer and put more thought into it.
I bought myself a top (which i really didn't need) but it was only £12 and i could do with some new clothes that actually fit me.... am feeling really fat and frumpy at the moment
Then we went to Asda and i spent £45.00  then on the way home we ended up in Tesco and spent another £55.00 now i paid for the shopping in Asda and my boyfriend paid for the shopping in Tesco. The shopping in Tesco included a pair of work shoes for me which i desperately need... my other ones are falling to bits and becoming a health and safety issue (well so my mum keeps telling me!)
All in all i ended up spending £82.00 yesterday.
Today i only left the house to go to work and never spent a penny. Only problem is i think my car is on its last legs... it's been sounding really funny for a while but i know i can't really afford to get it fixed again but i know i need to .... i was dreaming about it last night... well it was more of a nightmare the outcome was the car was to be scrapped and i woke up in tears
I have made a bit of money on ebay today with quite a few things selling so i have withdrawn enough from Paypal to pay my RBS MC 2 minimum payment of £123.00 which is due next month so at least its a start.
Think i'll need to take the car to the garage 2moro as i honestly don't feel safe driving it at the moment.
Will have a think about it and see how i feel about it in the morning

I cant believe its been so long since i have been on here
I honestly didn't think it had been that long!!!
Quite alot to update so here goes...
Realised when i was updating the snowball calculator that the interest rates for two of my cards didn't look correct they were both at just over 1% apr instead of the 20% they should have been so when i corrected it i got a bit of a shock! My new debt free date is 91 months away which is 7 years and 6 months away.... it seems like a lifetime!
I ended up taking the car to the garage and they couldn't find anything wrong with it... it still doesn't feel right and the engine is revving when im sitting with the handbreak on which i know is not right but they checked it and its ok..... they also didn't charge me for it which was a welcome relief!!!!
Had quite a few problems in the house lately... on the last few days of my holiday i decided to start re-arranging the furniture and when i did that i found the livingroom and bedroom walls covered in damp and mould  so i spent the last day of my holiday scrubbing and cleaning trying to get it off.... its because there is so much stuff in my one bedroom flat and the heating hasn't been on for ages. Needless to say the heating is on every night now and the windows are being opened for a few hours during the day.
I have managed to get rid of alot of junk to the tip and also the charity shops over the last few weeks but some things are just too good to part with and i know i will make money from them on ebay... just need to find the time!!!!
I had to pay out the house insurance this month £197.40 which i couldn't get any cheaper as i've made claims so didn't have all the money i needed saved for it but managed to pay it without using the credit card :T
The roof repairs and the close door repairs have been approved and a factor appointed now my share of the total bill is £1516.00  My boyfriend has paid me half of this in cash (which he managed to borrow off his mum) I on the other hand don't have any of the money required so am going to put it on my credit card.
They are charging me 3% to pay by credit card but in the long run i'd rather do this just incase the company goes bust and i lose the money.
I've used part of my boyfriends share to pay off my Skycard as this card is the highest interest rate and i will put the full repairs payment onto my RBS MC 1 as it is the lowest interest rate card i have the available funds on... just hope the transaction goes through ok  fingers crossed!!!
The factors aren't going to take my payment yet. They said they would take it once everyone else has paid so that im not charged too much interest so they should be contacting me any day now to arrange this payment to be made. I have been paying all my cards and overpaying where available.
Here is what the accounts look like at the moment:
OVERDRAFTS:
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND £650.00 now £630.00
LOANS:
MUM £735.00 now £700.00
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND £11798.88 now £11547.87
CREDIT CARDS:
DEBENHAMS £827.75 now £760.00
MBNA £4170.00 now £4160.00
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND MC 1 £7982.50 NOW £7738.00 (this will be £9299.48 once roof payment has been made)
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND MC 2 £5513.50 now £5360.00
SKY £599.08 now NIL :j
TESCO £1764.80 now £1740.00
TOTALS:
OVERDRAFTS £650.00 now £630.00
LOANS £12533.88 now £12247.84
CREDIT CARDS £20857.63 now £19758.00 (will be £21319.48)
TOTAL OUTSTANDING £34041.51 now £32635.84 (will be £34197.32)
Now i know that its going to have increased my debt but i didn't have any choice in getting the roof fixed and in the space of the month its an increase of £155.81 which only adds 1 month to my debt free date and it also means im not worrying about where to find the money to pay for the roof repairs.
Anyway that's enough of an update at the moment... im sure i've forgotten something but i will attempt to update again sometime soon!!!
Buddiebabe xDEBT OUTSTANDING 23.04.17 £16802.970 -
Well i spoke too soon about the factors... the money was paid on Friday!!! I have put it on my credit card but its not showing up as coming off yet so will wait and see what happens when i check my online accounts 2moro. I just hope that it hasn't been declined.
I've managed to get a few things listed on ebay over the weekend so will see how they go
Buddiebabe xDEBT OUTSTANDING 23.04.17 £16802.970 -
Hiya buddiebabe. Things sound very complicated, my head is spinning thinking of all the juggling you have to do. Good luck with the ebay auctions. I'm just struggling to list some things now. Techy stuff of my OH's, I hate listing this kind of thing in case I get some vital detail wrong.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Hey
Just thought i'd post an update as all the bills have been paid this month and there is nothing else due so any payment from now will be extra. My accounts are sitting as follows:
OVERDRAFTS:
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND £650.00 now £630.00
LOANS:
MUM £735.00 now £690.00
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND £11798.88 now £11547.87
CREDIT CARDS:
DEBENHAMS £827.75 now £700.00
MBNA £4170.00 now £4160.00
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND MC 1 £7982.50 NOW £9290.00
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND MC 2 £5513.50 now £5360.00
SKY £599.08 now NIL :j
TESCO £1764.80 now £1740.00
TOTALS:
OVERDRAFTS £650.00 now £630.00
LOANS £12533.88 now £12237.87
CREDIT CARDS £20857.63 now £21250.00
TOTAL OUTSTANDING £34041.51 now £34117.87
Now i know that my debt has increased by £76.36 from when i stopped gambling but i have paid off quite a bit but the money due to the factors has now been paid but it has not increased my debt too much. I should be able to start working on bringing down my outstanding balances from next month.
I have paid the house insurance and gas bill this month too from savings i had made throughout the year, which if i hadn't done they would have had to go on the credit card but this year they have been paid in full.
Im going to start saving for them for next year now. I already have the following saved for bills and repairs:
Gas £137.05
House Repairs £ nil
House Insurance £ nil
Road Tax £60.00
Car Insurance £190.00
MOT & Servicing £60.90
Total cash savings £447.95
TV licence savings £150.00 (this is enough to cover tv licence due in November and also starts towards next years savings)
The following is for christmas and other presents or food:
ASDA gift card £30.00
Superdrug gift card £25.00
Morrisons saving stamps £22.00
Total savings £77.00
I also have the following saved at work:
Cash £60.00
Cash £75.00
Works bank a/c 1 £251.91
Works bank a/c 2 £97.50
Total savings £484.41 (the two cash amounts are being saved for works nights outs over xmas and also to cover the cost of travelling and a new outfit if required) Cant get to this money until November
The money in the bank accounts im trying to save to use for xmas. It's also my mums 60th birthday on xmas eve and i have no idea what to get her... any ideas are welcome.
Im off sick from work just now i've got the cold and i keep being sick. Its been going round work for a week or two but i think the fact that i've been working every hour possible might have something to do with it. I am going to try and make the most of being off by catching up with some internet stuff like cashback sites and maybe some competitions.
The stuff i have listed on ebay at the moment is not doing to badly. I have 11 items selling at 99p each now i know its not much but its a start!
Going to go lie down for a bit and try and get some rest
