Evening
Well you have all been very busy chatting and I havent even managed to keep up with the posts at work!
Since coming home I have done very little as there are 4 of us in this house, 3 at home today and I come in (after going to the docs where I am now receiving treatment for 2 types of anaemia) and nothing was done again. So I didnt cook any tea other than heating some rolls for me which I had with chocolate spread and then I supervised DS who cooked meatballs and spaghetti for him and DD. OH got something himself! As DS then proceeded to wash up and attempt to clean the kitchen I helped a bit.
Todays list now looks like this
Monday Mop- Kitchen and Dining Room
Level One
[STRIKE]Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces[/STRIKE] - done
Level Two
Sweep and mop floors
Clean the fridge and work anything that needs using soon into your meal plan
[STRIKE]Wipe dining table.. [/STRIKE]- done
Level Three
Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round
[STRIKE]Wipe and replace all those small appliances.. kettle, toaster etc [/STRIKE]- done
Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances .. don't forget those kick boards..
Wipe out a dirty cupboard... get rid of everything you no longer need and make it all pretty and tidy!
Extra Mission : help yourself
[STRIKE]S&S over the hob and oven[/STRIKE] - hob swished, oven cleaned yesterday
Wipe down any tiles and shine those taps.. a toothbrush is great for cleaning away the gunk!
34 fling boogie..
[STRIKE]Empty the bin.. wash it out.. and make it smell heavenly[/STRIKE] - done
Thats it - not much but I am not a slave to my family.
Love to all, off to catch up on the thread

:hello:Hi to mudbath, kaz and all the newbies!
pigpen - lovely photos!
I have just speed read all ten pages of the thread, so I'm very likely to miss someone out!
I went in for the first Inset day today, all full of new girl butterflies, it all went pretty well, but I am suffering from information overload! Planning not going well (thanks for the hint Valli!) as my timetable may yet be changed so if I lose the Year 9 Spanish, and hopefully get a Year 7 French I shall be very much happier. I'll wait and see tomorrow.
I arrived back about five, and after a quick cup of tea, did the kitchen to level 3 - I'm not promising to keep up that level of enthusiasm, but I've been sitting still most of the day, and was full of energy for once! I was really pleased that the children had done all the washing up and not made a mess everywhere, even though they were on their own all day.
froddington - It sounds as if today has gone much better for you - I'm so pleased!
tootifrutti - well done on all your filing, paperwork and phone calls!
Off to bed now - I'm really sleepy! It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
:hello: I am still here!
Money Saving Diva - Thanks for the mention! If you’re still estranged – and the phone calls aren’t working what about a letter? Then you know exactly what you have said – and she can read it (I hope) and re-read it…and with any luck…
Pigpen - How cute are Moomin and Hazel! And that cake – wow! And why wouldn’t she poop on a bible- cats were once worshipped as Gods – they have never forgotten this!
Nice to have you back Mudbath (note to self – no more chats about the Swedish shop)
Welcome Firefly – luv it when lurkers come out of the closet – would we be thinking of posting in – err – lunch breaks? Hope so!
Toots – you sound like you are really achieving – well done!
Froddington – you too! Brill!
Dusty- I have heard that phrase – but had no clue why it’s used – so thank you! (I say White Rabbits because I heard it on Junior Choice when I was a (very very little, honest) kid!
Those Snickerdoodles sound nice Polka – has anyone reworked the recipe to make it Valli proof – please? (ie weights)
Incidentally G&B have now made 2 batches of muffins – 2 flavours and froze rest – this has 2 advantages – they last longer and kids don’t trough them – I am VERY good I don’t eat muffins!
Welcome to all newbies and hello to the returners - you'll like me (won't they Tag? )
I am VERY pleased to announce that I have not done my kitchen at all - but, in my defence, I have been doing planning and prep - and lots of it - though there is more to do. I have found something else for the charity shop and a bag of clothes has gone out for a collection! DD decided she would come blackberrying with me so I have stewed blackberries with apples (natural pectin) to jam tomorrow, They are straining now and as I splash the juice everywhere there is no point doing the kitchen until the jam is potted and setting. Technically it's not jam, it's Bramble Jelly - seedless and absolutely delicious. Fruit - gleaned from the hedgerow and the apples from mum's tree so very :money: - all it costs is sugar, time and gas! I rarely buy 'shop' jam now! And yes - I'm on the jam thread, too!
Popped to s****ury's while DD was at Jui Jitsu and got 2 packs of free range chicken thighs and legs (4 of each I think) reduced from £4.26 to 99p each):money: So they've gone in the freezer (which I defrosted a few weeks ago!)
So all in all I think I can be forgiven for not actually flying!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Hi again. Have had a good day today.
Striped bed, washed and hung out before work. Took girls to mums.
When I got home I....
did all ironing
got bedding in and remade bed (this is good as normally I would now go to bed and have to make it!)
Done Tea, girls had pizza and pasta - don't ask! I had pasta with tuna and V low fat mayo, also made some for my lunch tomorrow which DD1 has now pinched for hers!! never mind.
Bathed girls
Bed girls - eventually, DD2 is a nightmare at the moment, lots of thunder and we live just behind the seafront so every wed night all hols has been fireworks which wakes her and she freaks right out. Now won't go to bed!
Did level 1 & 2 in kitchen - most pleased.
Got all school stuff ready for tomorrow - DD1 starts middle school or whatever they call it now - she's only just 7 (sunday) and seems far too little to be going there! But she is excited about it which is the main thing.
Pigpen - That cake is fantastic, I made DD1's cake but I cheated and got a Hannah Montana cake topper off ebay but I did make a large cake which tasted yummy so was pleased with it, didn't look anything like yours mind! DD1 saw photo of your DD and kitten and has been mithering me all evening for another one. She's got 3 cats and a fish tank with 16 fish and at the moment about 40 babies so I think she has enough.
Off to bed now as another of my must dos is to be in bed before 11 as I am always so tired.
Night everyone and hope you have a good day tomorrow.
TaffyNeed to sort my life out! :T0 -
Valli - congrats on finally getting round to doing your prep:T You clearly need to be up against the deadline to get motivated. Is this an important part of being a teacher, as Serena and Froddington seem to have it too;) ? I'm not sure about sexymouse... she hasn't mentioned paperwork much recently! Its good to see you setting an example anyway
Don't suppose you want to swap some of your bramble jelly for some of my dad's crab apple jelly? It's delicious, but we've got loads...
It looks like everyone's got the paperwork bug this week, so I might have to give in and deal with some of mine too
I've done the kitchen except for the fridge (done at the weekend), floors (will do with the living room/hall stairs/downstairs loo before I go to bed) and windows (they still look clean).
I'd contemplated leaving the kitchen table which had turned itself back into a hotspot (oops), but then remembered that I have friends coming over for supper on Wednesday evening so thought better of it. Most of it is now clear and I'll do the rest tomorrow (I'm working from home so hopefully I'll be able to do stuff while on teleconferences/having breaks from [STRIKE]using [/STRIKE]trying to use my brain :rotfl: )

Hi Denise - your plus list getting shorter!
Can I make a suggestion - you could add your NZ time (and date) to your post - then we'll know when you post.
BTW if it's tomorrow there - does my jelly set ok? :rotfl::rotfl:

Ok, extras for today:
[strike]Ring my mother (Been putting this one off for ages - We fell out months ago and despite all my efforts the estrangement still stands. So I stopped reaching out for a while but now I want to try again)[/strike] - see below
[strike]Make an appt.[/strike]
Ring and arrange for 3 decorators to give me a quote
[strike]Complete an hour of reviews[/strike]
Find credit card statements and write cheques
[strike]Give my OH the QVC returns to post[/strike]
Ok, so that was almost a good day...
Thank you Valli for mentioning me, I sometimes feel that 'cos my lists are so small and seemingly insignificent I am wasting others time by posting on here, but I do really find it helps me. As for my mother - well there are other people involved and I do not want to write a letter that she can show around to others and use to bolster her own side of things. I know that might sound odd but it's complicated. I DID ring her and I left a message on her ansafone and apologised for something I haven't even done...:rotfl: but I want to make peace so willing to take the blame verbally. I miss her in my life.
See you all tomorrow!
